Bob Gainey: Wake Up

With the news of Chris Pronger going to Edmonton, and Pavol Demitra going to the Kings Habs fans are getting a little anxious.

Where is Montreal in the mix? Are we not going after some big name talent?

Apparently we extended an offer to Miroslav Satan, good player, a bit of a cry baby, but I don’t see him wanting to play in Montreal anyway.

What will today bring? Hopefully something, The Habs need to make a move, and soon before it’s too late. And no, I’m not talking about Peter Worrell, I’m talking a talented forward and a strong defenseman.

Wake up Bob.

      Mr. Gainey,

Montreal is a beautiful city and may bring distractions to people. The World Aquatic Championships are over MR. GAINEY and the FREE AGENCY MARKET is up and in full swing, SIGN SOMEBODY DECENT.

I think yesterday’s press conference to announce the signings of Kovalev & Dandenault prove that he has been working hard to upgrade the Habs. Also, I heard that they’ve unofficially signed a 2004 draft pick, defenceman Mark Streit from the Swiss league. He stands an outside chance at cracking the pro lineup this season, but I have to give the advantage to Hainsey unless he bombs in trainning camp.

I wonder how much it would cost to add Teemu Selanne to the club? I think he would be a good fit since he is a good buddy of Saku. I think he greatly under-performed because of the problems he had with Tony Granato last year. Not saying he could score 40, but 30-35 would be a possibility.

There is tons of speculation that Selanne is coming. I think it is quite possible, considering him and Koivu, considering he’d probably be getting roughly the same offers from other clubs. Why not? What is stopping him?

You can’t base much on last season, don’t forget this guy scored 76 goals in his ROOKIE year. If he can fit in Montreal, I say do it.
