Flyers dropping like Flyes.

    As soon as I declared the Flyers my pre-season pick to take the Eastern Conference this year they started falling apart.

    Peter Forsberg, Derian Hatcher and now Sami Kapanen are already out and the pre-season games haven’t even started yet. Minor surgery for Forsberg, and Kapanen and a sprain for Hatcher. Will they be ready to go by the 1st game? Will they be 100%? Bobby Clarke is taking no chances.

    In attempt to beef up the team, Clarke signed forward Brian Savage. Word to the wise Bobby, don’t expect anything from Brian Savage.

    Habs fans remember “Mr.October” well, producing a lucky streak of goals early in the season and then falling off the map. Savage was just that, savagely lame. A journeyman for a reason, he can’t get the job done.

    good luck with Brian Savage good ol’ number 49! don’t get too excited when he pots like 10 goals in the fist month! remember october is only 31 days long and he seems to misplace his stick after the month is up!

    • PACTUM SERVA : Yep your right. I just hope this team shows up with some fight on saturday. Boston will be throwing their weight around again. The team needs to make a statement early in the game. Gut check time.
    • groundworking : Backhands are hard to read. I thought it was a very smart play--risky, because they're also hard to aim, but smart.
    • groundworking : I couldn't agree more about Price and O'Byrne. He's soft, which isn't something that one normally has to say about someone his size. Price is incredible, though. Very good. He's the only reason they've even been close this past few games.
