Canadiens dethrone Kings

Finally. The Canadiens ended a 4 game losing skid with a 3-2 victory over the visiting Los Angeles Kings. Another 1 goal victory that we’ll gladly take.

Without Markov, Kovalev and Koivu some people had to step up and they finally did making the difference compared to the last 4 games. The Canadiens got 2 goals from Pierre Dagenais while Jan Bulis scored his first goal in nearly a month, on a set up from non other than Steve Begin. The depth players made the difference in squeezing by the Kings.

The Canadiens have the next week off, not playing until Saturday. This win was important to go out on a high note and carry some positive vibes throughout the week. The time off should hopefully rest battered and bruised bodies and the Canadiens hope to come back strong with everyone but Kovalev ready to go. At this time Kovalev is expected to be ready for some time around Christmas.

When play resumes the Canadiens will take on some Western Conference foes including Wayne Gretzky and his Coyotes visiting the Bell Centre.

Bulis’ first goal in nearly two months, wasn’t it? The RDS screen said October 12th, and so did a Seattle paper I just accessed:

“Bulis, who hadn’t scored since Oct. 12…”

It doesn’t matter, as long as he doesn’t go that long again, unless he’s traded.
