Guy Carbonneau Battles Former Team

It didn’t take long for Guy Carbonneau to be pitted against his former team where he served as Assistant General Manager as little as 3 days ago. It’s so recent in fact the Dallas Stars website still has him listed as part of their organization. Those same Stars will be in town tonight trying to extend their best road record in the NHL against the new incarnation of the Habs.

Traditionally the Canadiens don’t fare very well against the Stars and tonight won’t be any easier as the Stars are a couple points away from 1st overall in the league and as mentioned the best road team on ice right now. Maybe Guy Carbonneau knows a secret or two but more likely the Canadiens will have to play an extremely disciplined game and out work them for 60 minutes.

The Stars should present a good challenge for Jose Theodore to answer as he gets his 2nd start and another vote of confidence in the second half of the season. Sheldon Souray will be back in the lineup tonight and we’ll be able to see what kind of response he delivers after being called out by Bob Gainey.
