Test 1: Canadiens and Flames

The Montreal Canadiens toughest challenge begins tonight in Calgary vs the Northwest Division leading Flames.
After succesful results against the San Jose Sharks and the Dallas Stars at home the Canadiens now embark on a road trip that would be difficult for any team in the league. Considering the Canadiens struggles on the road and the fact their best player is out with a torn rotator cuff makes the challenge even greater.
Calgary is 16-4-2 when playing at the Saddledome. To their credit, the Habs are 2-0 in their last 2 games and have scored 10 goals against Western Conference teams. Can they match that effort and due it on the road in the fiery Saddledome?
Jan Bulis, Radek Bonk and Mike Ribeiro look to continue their strong performances.
The time is now for players to step up. Richard Zednik is not finding the net like he needs to and has anyone noticed Alex Kovalev’s floating around recently? His goal against Dallas was great but the frequency in which he scores has to go up. If he played with that determination every shift he’d be unstoppable. Unfortunately he’s resembling the guy who got slashed, put his head down and quit playing then skating into Sheldon Souray giving Boston a breakaway and game winning goal in the 2004 playoffs.
If there’s a time for Jose Theodore to silence his critics and earn his $4.5 Million then it’s tonight. The fate of the Habs may depend on this road trip and it’s time for the big names to prove themselves.

- Senet1 : I am not so sure that any of our players should be at the allstar game, but if I were to have any it would be Price and Komy. The ALL Star selection last year did not help Markov one bit and he played some of his worst hockey after the break, especially in the playoffs. To me Price has played well and is one reason we are fourth ing the standings. Komy has improved out defence since returning and id obviously valuable to our team. The rest of the guys need to get the extra rest and get health

- habs#1fan : So friggin sick of the bitchin and whinin everyone is doing about the all star selections. Price and Markov are there and justifiably so. Komi is one of the leagues best hitter and shot blocker as we all know. Kovy is the only questionable one, Ovechkin should have probably got it.

Every team has their one or two teams that they have problems with, and it does not matter if they are a high or low place team. That team just gives them fits. The more important test was been to date is the Philly game and the Detroit game as well as the Pittsburgh game. We came to play in those games and won them. Tampa will give us trouble until Laclavier and St. Louis no longer play for that team. Really I expe

with the leafs starting to slide and not many playoff spots open. This is a must win for the Habs. Hopefully they can continue their good play. But I think a trade is still required to shake up the roster. They need some new blood in the line up and hopefully it’s some size they could add up front. IE Malone or Bell.

If any trade should be made in my opinion it should be for a defenceman. With Markov sidelined for 2-3 weeks hopefully not longer it shows that we are weak in this department. Zeddy has been playing imjured it seems for a while now, hopefully this time he’s back for real. Let’s hope for a good one tonight, low scoring game for sure.

In one a couple of interviews after the game with Mike Ribeiro he was wearing some type of hat or tuke, I’m not sure what it’s called, which is why I’m asking what is it called, if anyone knows could you let me know, thanks.
