Canadiens Clinch Playoff Birth!
By Habs Blog on April 17, 2006 | 10 Comments
Regardless of the outcome of their final game against New Jersey, the Montreal Canadiens have clinched a playoff birth.
The Atlanta Thrashers fell 6-4 to the Washington Capitals ending the Thrashers chance. It’s been a long year and great to have it finally settled after almost going down to the last game of the year.
The Canadiens will finish 7th or 8th in the Eastern Conference and face the Ottawa Senators or Carolina Hurricanes.
The Habs can lock up 7th with a win at home against New Jersey.
Congratulations and Good Luck to the Canadiens whose late season winning streak locked them a spot.
Get ready for the real season to begin.
