Sure, keep Bouillon for 2 years at 1 mil a year. Also, trade Aebischer for Havlat. Get rid of Ribeiro for sure. The Zednik case is less clear, he still has a one year 1.9 million deal left on his contract. He was one of the very top point and goal-scorers for the canadiens 2 of the last 3 years. Last year he got injured and so was mediocre, but showed some talent in the playoffs. The problem with Zednik seems to be that he doesn’t get aong very well with some of his teammates (recall problems with Kovalev, and a fist-fight with another canadien a couple of years back), and this might influence a trade.

I hope bouillon stay in montréal, but may be he is hopping to get a little more than 1 million a year.

A lot of you are talking about bringing Arnott to montreal. I am not sure it would be good, that player is in the end of his carreer, he is getting slower and his accurency is not improving. Not sure he would help the canadians right now. At least not like we are hopping for. We had enough old guys here, times to let the youngs one a place and let them PLAY cmon !

For Zednik, I hope he move out. But it might not be this summer. 1 year left to his contract, he might start in montreal, let him prove he want more money so he gonna play more again and then you might have a better trade if you add other players to it.

I still think that Mike Reberio is the biggest waste of money and ice-time on the Habs, and most likely in the NHL. He should be traded ASAP.

I think that Gainey should try to aquire a great d-man, and therefore not sign Boulion.

Jason Arnott would be a perfect fit to the 2nd line. He would provide strength in the corners, and get the puck to Kovalev.

The 1st line is locked up for sure, Koivu, Higgins and Ryder were perfect together.

I also think that Zednik should be traded for a draft pick. This will allow some of the very young players such as Chipchura, Latendresse, Perezhogin and Plekanec to have more ice time, and develop into stars faster.

The Habs should definitely keep the services of Bouillon. He was among the leaders in bodychecks and blocked shots around the league. I’ve also heard that the Habs and Blue Jackets are in the midst of trade talks which would see Sheldon Souray and Alexander Perozhogin leaving in return for Nikolai Zherdev. I would say go for it. Zherdev is an amazing prospect that put up 27 goals and 54 points while having a lazy centerman (Federov). He’s currently a restricted free agent.

Look all you fans that think that Latendresse is going to make the team (Habs All The Way!). GET REAL! After the terrible year he had in the QMJHL and at the World Juniors(that was an absolute disaster) Gainey is not going to put him on the team. He’s only 19 and he will have to go the long way to the bigs through the Juniors and the AHL.

Chipchura is going to spend his time in the AHL now first.

Looks like the Habs are in for a bidding war for Arnott with Nashville and Toronto but I think the Habs would have the inside track since he’s buddies with Gainey, Carbs and Muller.

As for Bouillon, there are plenty of other defencemen out there if Bouillon wants too much and by what he’s reportedly asking for, 3 years 1.5 million per season, that’s a little pricey for a 30 year old number 5 defenceman.

well, the Canadiens, and Mr. Gainey, blew it again! As usual all the players they wanted to get,-GONE! It seems quite odd that Gainey does this to the Montreal fans every year! He says he is going to be active in the free agent market, and then HE DOES NOTHING! talk is cheap! Action speaks louder than words! I guess he’s all talk only! I personally think Gainey is a horrible GM! We need someone who is aggressive, and not afraid to make moves! As long as he is GM, don’t expect a decent team! Maybe Mr. Gillett has no money to spend, or maybe nobody wants to play in Montreal! I don’t know anymore. But, it’s very frustrating to see all these good players going to other teams, especially teams in your own division!

Ihe game won’t be exciting on the ice, if you don’t have any offence to score goals for you! Where is the offence going to come from? We are at best a 1 line team, that is if Kovalev comes to play. That’s not the case every night. Also, we don’t know the status of Koivu for the upcoming season. There are lot’s of question marks. Also will Huet be a flash in the pan? I don’t think the Canadiens will be competitive this seaon, and I think the Bruins and Toronto will be much improved. Too bad I can’t say the same for the habs. It’s time for Gainey to make some moves before it’s too late

True, we do have a few under achievers, but also we have some talent, such as Higgins, Ryder, Samsonov, Kovalev. But honestly, that’s where it ends. It’s hard to make deals when nobody wants your players. Who, in their right mind would want Ribeiro? or Bonk? NOBODY! We have to work with what we have, and hope we find a diamond in the rough from our up coming minor teams, right?The future is from our younger prospects, not our already established players. Fans must be patient! It won’t happen overnight, but possibly 4-5 years down the road. The key is PATIENCE!

TORONTO (Reuters) – The dislike of Canada’s biggest city, Toronto, in the rest of the country runs so deep that a filmmaker has made a documentary about it.

“People in Toronto are soulless, one-eyed corporate zombies,” Joey Keithley, of the Vancouver punk band D.O.A., says in the film, “Let’s All Hate Toronto.”

The 73-minute film, which premieres at Toronto’s Hot Docs documentary festival next week, follows a character called Mister Toronto, who embarks on a cross-Canada trip brandishing a sign that reads “Toronto Appreciation Day” and steels himself for the onslaught.

His tour leads from Newfoundland on the Atlantic Coast to the Pacific city of Vancouver, where feelings against Toronto — usually acknowledged as the country’s financial center and the cultural capital of English Canada — run deepest of all.

“There is something different (about hating Toronto). People are more passionate about it,” filmmaker and co-director Albert Nerenberg said in an interview.

“People have a grudging respect for New York outside of the city, and have a grudging respect for London. But people outside of Toronto don’t have that for Toronto, they really don’t.”

Nerenberg, who is from Montreal, got the idea for the film from a 1956 publication with the same name as the movie.

He said collective dislike of a city is not unique to Canada, and said he might like to make similar films on other countries’ love-hate relationships with major cities.
