Streit will play

With the injuries to Craig Rivet and Mathieu Dandenault, Mark Streit will get his chance to play.
Streit appeared to finally get up to speed with the NHL game and was showing promise in the pre-season.
Rivet may be healthy enough to start but Dandenault’s injury appears more serious. With Francis Bouillon and JP Cote still sidelined with their own injuries the Canadiens depth may get tested.
Patrick Traverse or Dan Jancevski may get the call if Rivet can’t start.
Something to consider, Rivet is the Canadiens ironman having only missed 2 starts in over 400 games. Chances are he’ll suit up.

Wahey! Two Swiss peeps on the Habs now. Hopefully if he can show what he showed in the Swiss league, we may have a future talent. Either way good luck to him!

It’s a good thing that Streit will play, he had a good preseason. Didn’t he nearly get a hat-trick in one game?! Two goals and a huge shot that stayed out at the end.
Dandenault is the 6th defenceman, and the one who was getting less ice-time every game, so it’s no so bad. Let him rest for a while until we must send someone else out.
The problem with Latendresse is that even though he should be taken off the fourth line for a couple games, there is no other obvious place to put him at. The thrid line is the checking, responsible line that plays against top lines. You cant have a defensive liability in there. The second line has the Kovalev and Samsonov duo already, and the first line is untouchable.
I think he is trying, but he is not really a fourth line player, and he is coupled with guys that don’t produce much offensively. He is not given much ice-time either. He should be given a shift in some of the powerplays and park himself in front of the net. Im surprised this hasn’t happened at all in the regular season since in the preseason it was so effective.

Habs look really good this year, in the game s played , I didnt see any team that we couldn’t take, and they all have been good teams , well toronto….. on a toronto note:Domi does do well commentating but the years of fists didnt do well for the grille. he got a good face for radio.

Did anyone notice that in the last shift of the first period game against the sens, Carbo sent out the toughests guys he had available, and so did the sens?
The fourth line was there: Downey (getting into a huge fight), Begin (who doesn’t mind being rough), Latendresse (is one of the Biggest guys in the team after all), also Souray and Komisarek, who arn’t generally paired together, were there. Like the fighting was being set-up beforehand.
The flames are not affraid to get rough and to fight. Thus, possibly it would actually be a good idea to have the fourth line formed by Downey-Begin-Murray for this one game. It would also be good to see how they do together, they did seem to gel well at the end of last season.

True true - i really am looking forward to a hard working, gritty, tough, all out battle against Calgary. Should help to show our strenght and size and toughness with the likes of Downey and Komisarek. Looks to be a physical game that probably ends up high scoring. Either way bring on the hits!

Dandenault has a partial tear in one of his leg muscles. He’s out indefinitly.

Where in the hell are we going with our 2nd and 4th lines.I understand that it’s only been 4 games but what’s next 7 games? 10 games? Let’s just everyone take a looki at the way our division/conference finished last year my point is: THESE ARE POINTS THAT WE WILL NEED COME MARCH AND APRIL !!! I just feel that sometimes management doesn’t seem to have that outlook!?! GO HABS GO!!

What the hell jay? We started with 6 out of 8 points. This pace is well over 100 point season. While the second and fourth line arn’t performing that well, there is not that much that ‘management’ can do about it. The players are the ones who have to start performing.

Hey guys hell we haven’t lost a game in regulation yet.No need to panic…It is a LONG season.I’ll take 6 out of 8 points any day:-)I like Streit alittle better then Dandenault.At least he gets a chance to show his stuff.

Alright, so Streit had a great preseason, and preseason means…. nothing. So, will Streit be able to perform as steady and physical as Dandenault? Probably not. He will be faster and able to keep up with a speedy Flames team. The team is playing back-to-back games Tuesday&Wednesday. Maybe Streit won’t play both games. Anyone know who will be in net for the games? I’m thinking Huet @ home and Abby away in Chicago.

As a team, the Habs are ranked 1st in the league on the PK and on face-off %. They’ve also scored more goals on the PK then they have allowed.

Listen,Yes we’ve got 6 out of 8 possible points we got 1 in Buff that should have been 2 we beat T.O and Philly ( and we should ) and we got a point with Ott who is NOT the OTT of last year! I’m the first to give accalades when it’s deserved! But Razz look just 1 month ahead! if we don’t take care of our 2nd and 4th line issues we’re going to have a HUGE PROBLEM!And what can management do!?!How about realizing that it’s not clicking with Samsonov and Kovalev with Plecs…try a few different combinations..As well as maybe start with your Hot goalie against a team like Calgary and play your not so hot against a team like Chicago!
