Playoff Showdown
-
Leafs and Habs on a Saturday night…. best place to be. Leafs and Habs in the last game of the year, with the last playoff birth on the line - a storybook ending.
Win and you are in.
That’s the message the should be drilled into every Montreal Canadien today.
No hoping for team A to beat team B and team C to lose in regulation - win and you are in.
Win the game. The Habs control their own playoff destiny and it’s time to see what they are really made of.
For the youngsters that helped propel Montreal into this position, this will be the biggest game of their lives. With everyone in the country and everyone in the hockey world tuned in.
For the veterans, it’s time to see their experience and leadership.
Which of the go-to guys on either team are going to show up and excel?
Koivu -vs- Sundin
Kovalev -vs- Tucker
Raycroft -vs- Huet
Souray -vs- Kaberle
McCabe -vs- Komisarek
Habs -vs- Leafs.
Enjoy.

Important..let’s get the 1st one…it’s as good as a 2-goal lead. Sundin and ***-clown Tucker are slumping. Leep them off the board. Pepper ‘Razer’ Raycroft, cuz he can fold like cheap patio furniture. If the Leafs are`tied, 2-2, 3-3 with 2 minutes to go they will PULL him What a nutty scenerio, huh ?
Go get ‘em Habs..let’s get the kids flying. And Saku and Kovy. You’ve been there before. Let’s step it up!!
Go habs. Make us proud.
The Duke in Toronto
April 7th, 2007 at 1:23 pm
Wow, didn’t even think of that Duke…leafs will pull Raycroft if we’re tied with minutes to go…CRAZY!
GO HABS GO!!! It’s times like these that its great to be a Hockey fan but even more so to be a Habs fan. Habs-nation unites tonight!
April 7th, 2007 at 1:53 pm
This is may go down as one of the biggest games in the most storied rivalry in hockey history and right up there with the biggest in pro sports(Yankees/Red Sox, Celtics/Lakers, Bears/Packers etc.). This may even be one of the biggest games in Habs history.
Will the Habs show up? And which goalie will shut the door? Habs win and they’re in. Couldn’t ask for anything better. This is the best saturday of my young life. I’ve only gotten to see one cup, I want to see another. Tonight is the first step. Go gettem boys. This is your destiny, do you chose to accept it or leave it?
April 7th, 2007 at 2:01 pm
“Habs-nation unites tonight”!
Not if Huet is in the net tonight. Ummmmmmmmmm, lets see how many soft goals Huet will allow tonight. Carbo should go with the one who got them this far. Yes, I HALAK. Go with the hot GOALIE Carbo. Don’t make another mistake. This will be the biggest mistake of the year. A mistake that will cost you a playoff spot.
Yes, I Will be like Joshtm now and repeat my self until I make a point.
You take a look at Huet & Halak’s stats. They are the basically the same. The only thing different is the Sav % & the GAA. Huets is a little better yes.
Huet has 19 wins & 15 losses. That’s 4 more wins than losses.
Halak has 10 wins & 6 losses. That’s 4 more wins than losses.
So based on the trend of the figures, if Halak would have played the same amount of games as Huet their records would both be basically the same.
When Huet lets in that soft goal or goals think of me and what I said.
Remember the old saying “YOU DANCE WITH THE ONE WHO BROUGHT YOU HERE” or something like that……………….
GOOD LUCK HABS YOU WILL NEED IT IF HUET IS IN NET.
April 7th, 2007 at 2:06 pm
Again, this is payback for the Leafs beating us in ‘67… it’s not our fault a meaningful Habs-Leafs game took 40 years but the Laffs decided to suck for past FOUR DECADES!
No lead is safe tonight, gotta keep keepin’ on til Raysoft folds. Let’s watch as he ducks again out of the way of Sheldon’s slap shots! And let’s hope Begin, Lapierre and especially little Frankie Bouillon hammer that Darcy clown around like a rag doll. Pressure, pressure, keep the Leaf defencemen from even getting near our blueline!
And for crying out loud let’s shut the pro-Leafs CBC HNIC crew up once and for all this season!
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HABS!
April 7th, 2007 at 2:09 pm
Wow,what a wonderful feeling it would be to beat up the Laffs tonite ! At the same time what a horrendous ****** feeling it would be to loose to the ****** Laffs !!!! I need Valium !!!!!!!
April 7th, 2007 at 2:17 pm
Yeah seriously if we win with conviction and this game is really tight it might just boost our guys enough to beat the sabres. And if we beat the Sabres, then it goes to show that if we really work hard we can go far!
LETS DO THIS!!!
April 7th, 2007 at 2:18 pm
Anyone else out there a bit preoccupied today? I have been useless for anything except count the minutes until puck drops and talking to random strangers wearing habs gear. GO HABS whether Huet or Halek is standing in front of the cage! It is hard to argue the importance of either player.(without Huet’s hot start, Montreal would already have tee times booked!)
Predictions - Habs overcome early cheap leaf goal to win 4-2 (one empty netter) and Huet shuts the mouth of R Habs4 Real! Win boys!
April 7th, 2007 at 2:21 pm
i’ve been bashing the habs all year….carbo gainey all their moves at the deadline playing abby instead of huet..not givin sammy enough time and opportunity…i even hated the habs this year and stoppe watching…but here we are…us against the leafs…my boy huet is back in nets..and it all comes down to this
so no more bashing..i am back…i wish good luck to the boyz and i want in the playoffs despite everything else…this is a classic night of hockey and it will be remembered…let’s pull it off boyz
April 7th, 2007 at 2:27 pm
Isles leading 3-0 agasinst Philly. Isles will win, and by start time of tonight’s game: HABS AND ISLES ARE TIED!! ISLES 1 POINT AHEAD OF THE LEAFS!
So, unless the habs win, (not 1 point), we can only hope NJ wins tomorrow, or it’s wait until next year. If the habs had played as hard as the NYI are playing, we would already be in the playoffs. Remember, the Islanders lost their #1 goalie, too, but chose to play hard irregardless of that fact, and put in the necessary effort, UNLIKE THE HABS!
I know the habs are going to regret those no shows in Ottawa and NY.
Oh well, the weather is getting better, hopefully it will warm enough next week for a golf game.
April 7th, 2007 at 2:37 pm
It’s official:
The Habs WILL NOT be advancing to the post season in 2007. I repeat WILL NOT be advancing to the post season in 2007. They are officially eliminated from the post season.
“Canadiens head coach Guy Carbonneau confirms it: Cristobal Huet is in nets tonight. Having played a sum total of 20 minutes of hockey since he tore his hamstring on Feb. 14 and required surgery three days later, it’s up to Huet to save the Canadiens’ season and lead the team into the playoffs”.
They are ROYALLY F_CKED BIG TIME NOW. So long boys. At least it is an early vacation.
The players don’t get paid for the playoffs anyway. It is all gravy money for the owners…………..
Hot of the press:

NA NA NA NA NA NA HEY HEY HEY GOODBYE HABS………..
Coach Carbo Screwed up yet another big game………..
Scotty Bowman should give Carbo a punch in the face and a swift kick in the Nuts…………..

The Isles will win tonight and I was reading a Toronto Star article this morning that Brodeur may not start tomorrow versus the Isles, then we know the Isles will win. Even if he does, the Devils do not have anything to play for, they might not show up and play hard at all, the Isles will win. We need to win tonight to render that game tomorrow meaningless for them. The Habs cannot show the same lack of heart that they showed at MSG on Thursday otherwise they will lose. I hope we kick some Leaf *** but we need to be at our best tonight. Let’s play with HEART tonight and show some passion. It’s very simple: Win tonight and we are in the playoffs. Go Habs Go!!

April 7th, 2007 at 2:59 pm
Stop beating the dead horse, Iceberg(that’s what we used to call Bill Berg;) ). Samsonstiff isn’t coming back.
As for Huet giving up softies,DIE HARD, it’s true that he has done so at times. What is also true is that we have played this way all year, not just since x-mas. The fact is, we’d be back with Philly without Huet’s early season heroics, wouldn’t have even come close to the playoffs last year either, and IMO, he’s as good as Halak–even rusty.
Halak played well, don’t get me wrong, but he seemed incapable of winning away from the Bell Center. He’s been giving up a softie per game, excepting his two shutouts, and sometimes more. While I don’t agree with the decision to start Huet either, Carbo had a tough choice to make. When the chips are down, and they are, there are no good choices.
Whatever choice he made, he was going to get second guessed, period. I believe Halak gives us a better chance to win, myself, and if we get shelled tonight, I’ll be pissing and moaning like everyone else. Still, to dismiss Huet’s role in getting us here, considering the # of games he stole for us earlier this season, is wrong.
Huet can win this game. All he has to do is not lose it. Raysoft(nice one Smiler) is no superman. If the team charges out of the gate, instead of crawls, like normal, we’ll win. There’s been no mention of Raysoft for the Vezina, not even in TO (where I live), despite his high win total, and that is due to his inconsistency.
In a game as crucial as this, I’ll take Huet over Raysoft. I’ll take Halak over Raysoft. I’ll take Abby over Raysoft. Hell, I’ll even drag Redlight Racicot out of retirement, and I’ll take HIM over Raysoft.
That iterated, if we play hard, we’ll win. If we do lose, I’ll be cheering on the Islanders in their last game, as they have the tie-breaker over the leafs. And if they fail me, I’ll cheer Buffalo. I’ll cheer for any team, as long as they’re playing against the leafs.
GO HABS GO!!!!!GOLF LEAFS GOLF!!!!!
April 7th, 2007 at 3:05 pm
Thursday was a very important game. The Habs could have knocked two teams out of the playoffs. Double Whammy. They blew that important game just like they will blow this important game tonight.
Oh. Did I mention that the Habs season will be over tonight. Oh yeah, I did….
Halak will be saying to himself, that stupid *** Carbo….oh well my value will go up next year. And I got this team to the where they are now and the Great Huet will look like an ***………OLE OLE, OLE, OLE…..
April 7th, 2007 at 3:16 pm
The point is. If you score a couple of quick goals on Huet, his focus is gone he looses his cool.
Halak on the other hand does not loose his cool down a couple of goals and can come back and make some great saves. He has shown us that he can do that.
I’m pissed big time over Carbo putting in Huet. If they loose they deserve it.
April 7th, 2007 at 3:26 pm
The Gazette says Carbo is undecided, but the Score’s ticker says Huet will start. Which is true? Probably the Score’s ticker. It won’t matter who starts if the Habs don’t show any urgency…
Glad to see my boy the AHL Slasher, AKA Perezhogin, is finally back playing tonight. Apparently, he’ll start the game with Saku “Joshtm’s Boy” Koivu and the newfie. Let’s hope he injects a spark, and uses his plus-player status to show those two how to backcheck…
April 7th, 2007 at 3:31 pm
And if they win then you should go kiss Carbo’s and Huet’s ***’.

Hey, Ziman, there’s a goaltender duel for ya…Dubiwieckszghtuiwe or Myzoplict or whatever the hell his name is —Vs—the less than stellar Scott Clemenson. I think I’ll bet over on that game.
April 7th, 2007 at 4:21 pm
The only A_S that I kiss is my wifes…………….
But if the Habs should win I will be a man & a half and accept a bashing…
April 7th, 2007 at 4:40 pm
Thats good enough for me
April 7th, 2007 at 5:01 pm
Well, it’s a good thing that you’re a DIE-HARD, cause the bashing could get rough…
April 7th, 2007 at 5:31 pm
Die Hard, RELAX!!!!!!!!!!! You’re freaking out, man! You are a living organism on this planet so melllooooowwwww out… yeah. Huet, Halak, Halak, Huet, Cristobal Halak, Jaroslav Huet, there’s no difference, they’re both good tenders but we need the team in front of them to KICK ***!

April 7th, 2007 at 7:51 pm
It’s not going to happen tonight! All leafs! what did you expect?
This is what I expected, and knew leafs would win. After all, habs only care about getting to their golf game, and it shows! Too bad habs as usual, are a NO SHOW!
I expected that too!
April 7th, 2007 at 7:51 pm
Xhabsfan… what are you talking about. The second goal was a little weak, but Huet stood tall against 23 shots and had zero defensive help.
April 7th, 2007 at 7:54 pm
Off Season moves, say goodbye to BONK,JOHNSON,BULLY,DANDY,NINNY,ABBY,MURRAY,SAMMY,HUEY ! Thanks for the memories…..NOT!!!!
April 7th, 2007 at 7:59 pm
All the habs do, is give their fans grief, and heartache!
I really don’t like this team! And I like Carbo less!
Why couldn’t he prepare his team, like Maurice and Rennie did!
April 7th, 2007 at 8:00 pm
Starting Huet was the right call. Halak, as well as he’s played, likely would have been on the bench licking his wounds by now. I’m sure Carbonneau fully expected this first period storm and elected to go with experience. So far, it’s paid off.
The problem is Montreal’s seemingly complete lack of effort to win and their subsequent failure at mounting any kind of an offensive attack.
Neither of these teams belong in the playoffs, in my opinion. Given their opposition, neither would survive one round.
April 7th, 2007 at 8:01 pm
GO ISLANDERS GO!
April 7th, 2007 at 8:07 pm
West coast,THIS IS NOT THE TIME TO LET IN SOFT GOALS,ALLMOST EVERYTHING IS SOFT WITH A CH AND WHERE IS KOVALEV?? AND CAPTIAN??? KOIVU??????THE ROCKET IS CRYING !!!!
April 7th, 2007 at 8:09 pm
THANK-YOU NEWFOUNDLAND !!!
April 7th, 2007 at 8:14 pm
How about that, all you doom n’ gloomers or closet Leafs fans, it’s 3 all!
April 7th, 2007 at 8:18 pm
WOOOO YAH! RYDER!!!
April 7th, 2007 at 8:20 pm
RYDER! RYDER! RYDER! chased Raycroft! What a turnaround!
April 7th, 2007 at 8:21 pm
Safe to say, entirely different Habs team showed up for the 2nd. Natural hat trick for Ryder to take a 4-3 lead and Raycroft chased … smells like … a playoff spot!
April 7th, 2007 at 8:21 pm
WOW!!! KEEP THIS UP 4-3!!
April 7th, 2007 at 8:35 pm
yeah yeah, never say never! Higgins and Ryder! This is amazing. hold on habs, HOLD ON!
April 7th, 2007 at 8:57 pm
Well ,next 20 mins ,eh! You know there going to throw everything plus the kitchen sink at us !I don’t think either of these teams are going to do to much in playoff action, you would think with Canada paying for the N.H.L. All the Canadian teams would be powerhouses !!!
April 7th, 2007 at 9:16 pm
We can’t stand prosperity! We are 1 ****** team!
April 7th, 2007 at 9:34 pm
Huet lost this one for us…^-5 with 5 min to go… Go isles!!!
April 7th, 2007 at 9:43 pm
Huet did not lose this game. too many 5 on 3’s.
April 7th, 2007 at 9:46 pm
Is this the worst habs team in their history? YES! YES!
What a fucken team! Can’t hold on to a 2 goal lead? PATHETIC PIECES OF FUCKEN ****!
THIS TEAM IS ****! ****! ****! A 2 GOAL LEAD
April 7th, 2007 at 9:48 pm
C’mon Islanders! I’ll be damned if the leafs will make the playoffs!
C’MON ISLANDERS! NJ DON’T PLAY BRODEUR!
April 7th, 2007 at 9:50 pm
I also think the leafs have the referees in their back pocket! It’s obvious. they made sure in leafs last 3 games, that leafs got all the calls so they could score on their PP. Leafs got all the breaks, starting with that flukey goal at the end of the 2nd period! I am so upset!
April 7th, 2007 at 9:50 pm
This was typically a Leafs (w/ Celestial support and refs giving them enough chances…not that we didn’t help of course. But it’s simply the trend for this 2006-07 version of the Habs. Also of note, last game for Kovalev (no doubt…here he is invisible for the two last games. Also, note Souray non present when the games is on the line. (injury or not, it says something for him)…got to expect it to be his last game. Huet weak and the defense very shoddy. Again, the Gods just wanted the Leafs to win. Someone please put together a reel of all this fluky **** goals the Leafs get….ahhh ****!!!
Get rid of the dead wood already!!
April 7th, 2007 at 9:53 pm
**** huet, **** kovalev, **** carbonneau
you see what happenes when a fu_ing rookie coach talks **** to decent players, and benches them for no reason. there you go, all the players were scared not to get benche, VUT BENCH FOR WHICH GAME????? maybe a golf tournament. yah, that’s what we’re all about.
Mr.Ganey good jb this year, but the coacxhing staff just gave up for no reasons. Maybe Gainey actually made the wrong decidion by acquiring 2 rookie coaches. He should have been the assistant coach to carbonneau in order to correct his mistakes.
Anyways, let’s forget about hockey, and LIVE LIFE!
To be quiet honest, now I rather wanna see leafs in the Playooffs than Islanders. And for the first time, I actually want them to win the cup. They deserve it. 40 years of drought, c’mon guys. If they win the cup this year, habs will probably try their asses off to win the cup too. Right now, they have no pressure on them; they are the last Canadian team to have won the cup.
My point is that Leafs deserve the cup this year, and I’ll go for them until they actually win the cup or get eliminated, and then we’all cheer for our mighty Habs again next year. *REMEMBER THIS YEAR IS AN EXCEPTION* It doesn’t mean I want them to ewin the cup that I am a fan of theirs. NO, WAY! I just belive they deserve it.
Sundin on his late 30s, dedicated a great portion of his carrer with Leafs, and didn’t have had the chance to lift the cup.
This cup belongs to you guys.
GO LEAFS GO…you guys derserve stanley cup 2006-2007
******
April 7th, 2007 at 9:54 pm
Huet let in 6 gOAls to the maple goofs,IN A GAME to get into the playoffs, that’s exactly what you get with a back-up in nets !!!!THIS TEAM NEEDS A COMPLETE OVERHAUL, YOU GOT THAT B O B AND G U Y ! ! ! ! AND IF YOU FANS DON’T SPEAK -UP ABOUT MAJOR CHANGES THEN GO FOLLOW ANOTHER TEAM,DO THE HABS A FAVOR. dON’T NEED DEAF, BLIND AND DUMB FANS ANYMORE. AND GET RID OF KOVALEV !!!!
April 7th, 2007 at 9:59 pm
Jack Toronto……….YOU ARE FULL OF ****…YOU MAPLE LEAF *** KISSER !!!
THEY DON’T DESERVE ****, NO TEAM—deserves—to win, ya gotta earn it
and they haven’t earned anything
April 7th, 2007 at 10:01 pm
See ya next year boys ….. stupid penalty’s all that was their own fault.
Cya next year hope we have something to cheer about.
April 7th, 2007 at 10:04 pm
Thank God this drama is over. I’d rather have a talentless team of players who play hard for pride than a roster full of overpaid pre-madonnas. Remember when Canadiens would take bullets to win the Stanley Cup? Playing with broken legs? It’s hard to be a Habs fan nowadays when your highest paid players wouldn’t block a shot for a playoff spot. Kudos to Huet, Halak, Koivu, Ryder, Higgins, Plekanac and “les jeunes”; good riddance to Kovalev, Samsonov and Aebischer.
Bring in some Canadians for the long term–French, English, it doesn’t matter! Just give me someone who couldn’t face himself in the mirror if he let his team down!
April 7th, 2007 at 10:05 pm
Nice penalty Koivu, nice power play goal you gave up
it’s time to dump Koivu and get a captain who understands what the
Stanley cup means and can show some leadership, your time is up,
Thanks for everything, now just go away.
Kovalev–and that other russian piece of S–T, don’t disgrace the nhl with your return, gutless, gutless, gutless, lazy floaters, if these two scumbags are back next year, we are beyond hope.
April 7th, 2007 at 10:06 pm
The bottom line is, we chased Raycroft because he was sh crappy. But if it weren’t for Raycroft,we probably wouldn’t have gotten back in the game. But the leafs didn’t deserve to win. They got a few lucky bounces, along with the homer referees in their back pocket. leafs were just lucky. But I think the Islanders will wipe that smirk off their ugly faces. And next year, we WILL CREAM THE LEAFS! That’s a promise! If this game had been played in MTL, we would have won! Don’t worry! The leafs will be swept by Buffalo, 4 STRAIGHT!
Leafs have NO GOALTENDING! Next year Price will play for us, and that will make a huge difference! But we have to do something about our D. It’s simply horrible!
April 7th, 2007 at 10:14 pm
If Kovalev(that useless piece of @#$% is back), I’m gone as a fan!
This team needs major changes. Get players with heart and desire, and the guts to play when it’s needed the most! Souray get’s a skate to the side, and decides he’s not going to play anymore! Goodbye to him! These players aren’t worthy of that CH on their chest! Maurice Richard would turn over in his grave if he knew how this bunch of misfits didn’t show up. All the chances in the last 3 months to get a playoff spot, and they just decided not to try!
Like I said, this is, by far the WORST team I HAVE EVER SEEN, talent wise, and without any HEART, PASSION,COURAGE, and GUTS! And without decent coaches!
CARBO has no idea what he’s doing! He’s a complete MORON! His team is NEVER PREPARED! SHAME ON THIS TEAM!
April 7th, 2007 at 10:48 pm
Another thing that upsets me, is the point system determining who gets in the playoffs! WE FINISHED WITH MORE WINS THAN ATLANTA AND TORONTO! Based on that, we deserved to get in! They need to change the playoff format! Go back to, 2 points for a win, in regulation, OT, or a shootout. This system, is simply NOT FAIR! And the leafs, DO HAVE THE REFEREES IN THEIR BACK POCKET! THEY ARE PRO TORONTO ONLY! HOW ELSE DO YOU THINK LEAFS WON THEIR LAST 3 GAMES?
TOTALLY UNFAIR! REFS GOT PAID OFF BY LEAFS. THEY ONLY WANTED LEAFS TO WIN! SHAME ON YOU REFS! SHAME! SHAME ON YOU REFS!
April 7th, 2007 at 10:49 pm
Disappointing end to a roller coaster season. The one bright spot is the number of young prospects this team has on the big club and in the system. There will be changes in the offseason, but at least the future does look bright for this team. For all you Koivu haters….get a life! Try 15 points in his last 8 games and 18 points in his last 12 games…and all this with a catarac in his left eye that will need to be removed in the summer. Thank you Saku, and thank you Habs Blog for allowing us Hab fans a place to chat. Have a great summer people…can’t wait unitl next year!

I’m just so fu#$?# pissed right now….It’s seconds before the end of the second period, and you just know that something has to happen…Poof!..a high stick at the close of the period…y’know that’s not the end of the world. But wait it’s a two-man advantage….
OK..so the period starts and they eliminate one of the two…yet the goal goes in (by the grace of destiny because a floater that has eyes, there’s 45 players in front of the net it’s got to hit somebody you’d think and it finds the back of the net…Huet is down on the play and is oblivious to what’s going on…(he’s kept in…sure in hindsight but maybe that’s where Jalak should have come in)….and the Leafs continue with the man advantage…How does that happen!!
Obviously I missed something!! Then Koivu gets another neanderthal play penalty (now normally a play like that is not called but here at the Air Canada centre (anything to give the Leafs more chances, it does!) at the blue line and yes it’s another penalty. Here Lapierre stands in front of the shooter….why he doesn’t block it (not sure other than divine intervention)and then two not one Leaf in front of Huet of which the puck deflects and finds the net…The sixth goal I believe is McCabe’s goal or maybe I’ve mixed them up…just pathetic….what is Johnson doing on the ice in the third period, when we need a goal…..what f%#%*& numbskull leaves that stiff in …was it a benching he was giving!! This is where you have Kovalev and Ryder and Kostitsen/Plekanez stay on for the remainder of the game…Put an offensive guy on the blue line do something…!!! f#$%#%?!!! I’m stunned that again this win was theirs, just came back from a 3-1 deficit to give it right back….what a f#$%$? joke! This is going to be another memorable summer!!

Well, well, well. I TOLD YOU SO, I TOLD YOU SO, I TOLD YOU SO.
It feels good to shove it down your throats.
The great Huet saved the day didn’t he. Ha, Ha, Ha. I told you that Halak should have started. My, how many soft goals did Huet let in tonight? Ummmm.
You can stop 40 shots satanding on your head, and it means nothing if you have soft goals scored on you. The 2nd goal was the soft goal that cost the Habs from taking out the Leafs. That is Huet for you.
Maurice made the right move by pulling Raycroft and they won the Game.
Carbo was to stupid to pull Huet after the 3rd goal. What? He pulled Halak after the 3rd goal on Thursday after he stoped 22 good shots.
Carbo & Huet cost the Habs a playoff spot.
How can you win a game playing 20 mins. They showed up for the 2nd period only. I should say that two players showed up tonight. Higgins & Ryder. At least those two can go home with their heads held high.
WAY TO GO RYDER MY NEWFIE BOY. GO BACK TO NEWFOUNDLAND PROUD BYE.
I SWEAR ON MY CHILDRENS LIVES, THAT AS LONG AS CARBO IS COACH OF THE MONTREAL CANADIENS, I WILL NEVER WATCH ANOTHER GAME.
What did I tell all of you. You all laughed at me. Who got the last laugh hey.
I feel bad for Higgins & Ryder…….

You can’t blame the ref for The Habs stupid penalties……….

Boy, I guess my prediction and last two comments have shut all of you up eh.
April 7th, 2007 at 11:35 pm
We losr because os stupid penalties, and a LACK OF DISCIPLINE!
Huet didn’t lose the game. It wouldn’t have mattered who was in goal.
It’s hard to stop a puck at 100 miles/hr, from McCabe. But someone should have BLOCKED THOSE SHOTS!
But right now, I feel really numb and it’s a hard pill to swallow.
WE should have won the game. We were up 5-3 near the end of the 2nd period, and should have hung on.
Anyways, We deserve to be in the playoffs based on the fact that we finished with MORE WINS THAN ATLANTA AND LEAFS. Hopfully, the league will change the point system determining who makes the playoffs.
I’m rooting for the ISLANDERS TOMORROW! GO ISLES GO!
Let’s wipe that smirk off the leaf faces.

**** everyone who talks **** on this blog about our team. **** all you losers who bash your team on the blog that dedicates it’s time and effort to the team you supposedly love. Get a ****** life. Cheer for the CHL team in your area. Go away with your piss poor attitude, don’t comeback ever. Your not needed. our team tried their asses off, they **** the bed in january and febuary, tried to make a comeback and almost succeeded. They gave it all they had, try cheering for philly or the oilers. Good luck with that one. You guys act like the habs owe you something, they don’t owe you ****. They play the best they can and if that aint good enough, then that means the other team wanted it more. much like tonights performance. I say thank you very much for an amazing season Montreal, it sure has been a rollercoaster of emotions, you guys still RULE in my mind. I will be looking forward to next season, hopefully we can pick it up. If you want to bash this message go ahead, **** you. i don’t care, our team is still #1 in my mind. and i will always say GO HABS GO!!!!!!! peace

Habs phan, it is fans like you that will make Montreal another Toronto Maple leafs. Support a loosing team. They make money and bring in no good players. Yeah you are a real winner…………
Note to Huet:
Ryder & Higgins gave everything they had, not you. You lets in some softs goals tonight. If you weren’t ready, you should of let Halak finish what he started. Instead you wanted to steal his glory to save your spot as number 1 goalie. You are not great goalie, and you cost Montreal what we have waited for all year. The playoffs. For me you’ll always be number 2 for your selfish decision to play in an important game like this one after coming off such a long injury stretch. “Ryder & Higgins gave everything they had tonight, I think.” Huet Don’t give us your comments, Ryder and Higgins had the games of their lives, and yet lost the game for us. Are proud of yourself. Go back to France with the rest of the cowards. Train hard for next year because if the fans had brains they will put you in the same spot as Mr.Theodore. On the bench wondering what went wrong…

Huet kept the team in threw the first period and a half. The 2nd, 4th and 5th goals were soft but the other one’s weren’t his fault. The D couldn’t clear out a disabled person from in front of Huet.
I know have to put away my Habs jersey till the draft. And what a suprise that mister Alex’big game’Kovalev didn’t show again. He’s laughing all the way to the bank with his paycheck right now. The two Russians need to go. And this was Souray’s last game in a Habs jersey. He’ll be on the west coast.
A lot of changes are in store I believe with the roster. Either Bouillon or Dandenault won’t be back(just one of the two) and the Russians hopefully won’t be back. Carbo will be behind the bench so complaining and calling for the head of a first year head coach learning from his mistakes is pointless. The next significant piece of Habs news that will happen is the re-signing of Andrei Markov to a long term deal.
April 8th, 2007 at 12:46 am
Events to happen this summer:
- Markov sings 3 year extension
- Carbo gets green light although the leash wil start to get shorter
- Habs will look at acquiring a goalie(although who is really out there)
- Souray will sign with LA mainly because Gainey’s line will be busy on July 1 with Rivet’s agent harrasing Gainey to resign Craig
- Shanahans name will be in the mix again and a deal will be close but he will sign back with NY
- Bonk will sign with Washington on Jul 23rd after very little interest in the first couple of weeks
- Chris phillips signs with Habs after SOuray leaves although the contract will be very steep and many bloggers will use this as ammunition to cry about.
- Ninimaa signs with a swedish team
- Kirk Muller leaves team after getting alot of flack about his PK units
Abby finds a bottom barrell team to take a chance on him. Probably LA and SOuray starts to question his decision to sign there.
- Pascual DUpuis is signed and made out to be our future saviour
- Latendresse gets cut in training camp for being overweight and thinking he is a suprestar. Lapierre is told not to go minus 3 in the biggest games of the year.
- Kovalev stays (whatever)
- Sammonov finally finds a taker and the Habs actually have to give up a 4th rounder to unload his salary.

What gets me is that teams with less wins are in the playoffs , seems that something is wrong when that happens , the point for a loss needs to go , but it wont why , well because this game is going to the USA and we are again loosing something to them, I really hope they change that rule its wrong period.
