Sheldon Souray is still very much married to Angelica and they are all relocating to Edmonton in the fall. This comes from a very reliable source - his mother a coworker of my mother. This is not another Pronger or Nelander thing. Angelica always lived in LA as that is where the family has a home, Sheldon also lived there when he wasn't on the road or in Montreal for games.

Xhabsfan;

There are many teams in this league that have no bonafide sniper and still manage to score by commitee and do well. WE may not have a 40 goal man but at the same time our system does not allow a player of Jason Blakes ability to have a break out season and score 40. HIggins, Pleks, Kovy and Ryder are all capable of scoring more but not under this system. Try not to be so darn sarcastic buddy. Live life.

Yo Yup,the way Gainey and Carbo have configured the Habs for next season makes for no offence ,regardless of if Carbo stays or not. Now some of you fans say this is going to be Kovalev's break-out year,lol,or that Saku's going to take the bull by the horns"one man show"lol,or watch out for Plecks and the rookies ??? or its Hammer time,lol,I'll put my money's on the young guys,Lats and Plecks will do better .But really ,there is no offence on this team so you can remove Carbo and put in an offence style coach,but what he going to do,pot him in himself?The Montreal Canadiens are an A.H.L.TEAM PLAYING IN THE N.H.L. Granted ,the pot has been stured but I wouldn't get my hopes up.Should be interesting to watch till the Dplay puts you to sleep!!!

Well, the young players are getting better and coming up. This should be a young and fast team.
Id give Carbo maybe a last chance until december. If we are not a top 5 or so teams in the eastern conference by then I'd fire him and bring a coach with a different style. Carbo is too much of a defensive coach, while this team's players are probably more geared towards playing a fast attacking style.

I try to be an optimist when it comes to the Habs but I can see no optimism in this coming season. At best Bob Gainey has basically the same team he had last year (Hamerlick for Sourey - Smolinski for Bonk - Kotsopolus for Johnson). Toronto finished ahead of Montreal and kept the same players with the addition of a quality goalie and a 40 goal scorer.Buffalo has lost major players but will still make the playoffs as will New Jersey.In order to justify re-building without making the playoffs, Bob Gainey should show his fans some respect by at least lowering his ticket prices considerably.I think this team could be looking at drafting in the top three next year if a major trade is not made for a bonifide point getter. 5 on 5 was brutal and no Sourey on the powerplay spells long season. Its great to be optimistic but we also have to be realistic.
