    Carey Price is here.

Carey Price continued the tradition of Habs rookie goalies, being the 5th to win their first NHL game. Doing it in Pittsburgh against Sidney Crosby and the offensively gifted Penguins no less.

Carey Price is the current buzz around the league. When was the last time the media buzz outside Quebec and around the entire NHL was centered on the Montreal Canadiens? It’s been a long time.

People are taking notice of the Canadiens again.

Although one win certainly doesn’t prove anything, and three games is far from a season, for fans who suffered through horrible Habs teams of the late 90s and early 2000s, it’s exciting to watch. The future is bright.

The Canadiens had 5 first round picks skating in last night’s game.

    • Mike Komisarek
    • Chris Higgins
    • Andrei Kostitsyn
    • Kyle Chipchura
    • Carey Price

Drafting well builds good teams and the Canadiens are finally starting to reap the rewards of good drafting.

Cristobal Huet will get the home opener start Saturday against the Hurricanes. Hopefully this new goaltending situation will raise his level of play and the Canadiens will get a solid goaltending performance every night.

I hope there are not many line-up changes Sat for the home opener. Maybe Huet but nothing else.

All I have to say is that I am very happy with the way our fellow habs are playing early this season besides 3rd period against Toronto.

By the way, HAMERLICK SUCKS. He is a waste of money. he hasn’t showed much this season. 5 MILLION what????? 5 million pennies??? 5 million quarters??

ANSWER: 5 MILLION DOLLAR (I hope those are American dollars?)

Anyways, I believe Carey ccan become a great goalie but lets put those comparisons betwean him and Patrick Roy & Ken Dryden.

I like that confidence that ghe demonstrated the first game.

    GO HABS GO!!!

Wow did anyone else check out the fox sports power rankings? Do they even watch hockey, I mean it’s nice they put the habs at #9, but the Caps at #3, and the Ducks at #26? Suddenly the habs at #9 is not so flattering.

Hey Habsblog having a little trouble staying up to date? Wheres the page for tonights game?!? :P

BTW Guys dont start getting all anti-Huet just because Carey played 1 game (even if it was awesome) Don`t forget that if it wasnt for him, we would of never made the playoffs 2 years ago. And if we wouldn’t of had him, we might still have Theodore right now!!!

Huet is our No.1 Goalie and he will be unless he plays horribly. And losing tonight isn`t equal to playing bad. Anyways, his contract is up next year so just be patient. This way Carey will get a couple of games a month and he will get used to the NHL that way. It aint time to start rushing him into it.

We got two great goalies right now and so as long as our offense can score 5-on-5 we are set.

    Can’t wait for tonights game!
