This story sounds so ridiculous, why would a pro hockey player, even someone with an entry level contract like O’Byrne ($500k/yr minimum) need to steal someone’s purse. God bless the old U S of A and their o-so-efficient Gestapo-like law enforcement.

The cops said that O’Byrne was holding the purse outside the bar and he told the cops that it belonged to his girlfriend but it really belonged to this chick who said it was missing. I agree that it really doesn’t make sense that he would actually want to steal a purse. If it is in fact true he was probly trying to pick up the girl by “finding” her purse for her.
Oh and if anyone is looking for a good place watch the hanb play check out Le Bar B Q Sports on Saint Catherine between Metcalfe and Mansfield. It’s a cool place to watch the game b/c their are a lot of tv’s

    What a load of ****.

The woman probably just wants money (most likely through lawsuit of course) out of it.

She probably asked O’Byrne to pass her her purse. Then once O’Byrne held her purse in hand she probably threw a tantrum and yelled that he stole her purse.

I guess O’Byrne said it belonged to his girlfriend while he was holding the purse outside… who wouldn’t be travelling with the team…

I betcha it was Tampa tite skirt who asked him to hold it, and the team was trying to explain to cops what happened… she set him up I’d say…

Kostopoulos got in trouble for resisting.. probably really for being drunk and knowing what really went on, but the cops wouldn’t listen…

all and all… who cares… nothing happened.. they will both play tommorow

The Ottawa Senators have shuffled the deck in a big way by completing a four-player transaction with the Carolina Hurricanes. Sources say the Senators have acquired defenceman Mike Commodore and forward Cory Stillman in exchange for defenceman Joe Corvo and forward Patrick Eaves

Well Ottawa might have a better run this season but hey Cory Stillman is old! Patrick Eaves is young and will get better. Joe Corvo also isn’t the youngest guy either.

Finally! Thank you Tampa Bay Police! Somebody is listening to me! I wonder if American Homeland Security has bugged my TV? I’ve been yelling for O’Byrne to take his purse off all year.

I hope Leafs fans don’t make fun of us about this. If they don’t bug us about O’Byrne dressing up like a woman, then it’s only fair that we stop bugging them about Andrew Raycroft dressing up like an NHL goaltender.

I guess you guys already got the salary cap angle, so:

O’Byrne’s a good young defenceman, but he brings way too much baggage to the dressing room.

    Oh wait.

Maybe O’Byrne was worried when he overheard Gaigney wishing that he could trade for a “ringer” defenseman.

    Weak. I’m dry here.
