Well thought out post there buddy.

    Game 7 Bruins @ Canadiens,
    @ Habs,
@ the home of the hockey Gods,
@ the center of the hockey Universe!!!
I don’t want to just beat them…I want to crush them! We’ve been rude and let them think that they have a shot. Time to stop teasing. Time to put them in their place!

We also have Carbo’s lucky tie lol

Seriously though we need to survive the first 5 minutes of the game as I expect the Bruins to come out hard.

If we fall behind early it could be a long night.

We will see what these Habs are truly made of tonight.

    GO HABS GO

Why do we have to survive Boston the 1st 5 minutes? Why can’t it be habs coming out strong, and forcing Boston to survive us?
But I 1 thing I don’t understand, is the lineup. It’s the same lineup that cost us the last 2 games. Therefore it has to change. I mean, O’Byrne a big body, should be in there. Same goes for Latendresse. What has Dandeneault done? And Streit is injuried, and can’t keep up. Is Carbo brain dead?
    YES!

Reason I think the first 5 minutes are crucial is I expect the Habs to be nervous. Hopefully that wont be the case and we can get a quick score and try to get a 2 goal lead in the first.

If Carbo keeps the same line up that will be a huge mistake. Good coaches make adjustments in the playoffs.

O’Byrne, Ryder and Latendresse out! same lineup as the last 2 games that we lost. You would think Carbo would want big bodies in there, O’Byrne and Latendresse. No Instead he has decided on the soft lineup. The one that never hits. Wasn’t it with O’Byrne in, that we won game 4? I don’t understand Carbo.

I talked with a few co-workers who are non-habs fans on Habs game 7. Most of them said GOALTENDING was one of the reasons leading to Game 7. Maybe they were right. Hope Price, CARRY the Game 7. Thanks.

We Habs fans have no power to make the lineups… But we have better strategies.

    ***** Price, CARRY the game!!!!!

    **** Power Play, RESUME!!!!

I don’t think that the Habs can afford to be nervous. They played that way the past two games and look where it got them. It’s all or nothing. They’ll need to come out and dictate the play, not Boston.

They’re either a hockey team or a bunch of pansies. Let’s let them decide.

How does Streit keep making the lineup ???
He can barely move - almost causes a couple of Shorthanded goals - and yet Carbo keeps going back to him!

Dandeneault is so washed up - get him out of there already.

5 Rookies came up from Hamilton - to pick their noses?

Get 1-2 in already - its obvious in the 3rd period there is 0 energy left in the Habs - thats when you need young legs in there.

Price is difficult situation - don’t want to crush him forever - but would not oppose starting Halak or going to him in early in the 3rd if Price falls apart again.

I expect that my team will show tonight and win. This team was an absolute pleasure
to watch in the regular season, but now is not the time for finesse. Please keep a few
    things in mind:

*this team was never supposed to make the playoffs, therefore it is the underdog
*the skills that got us 100+ points need some grit to win in this realm
*have to make life miserable for Thomas (he’s getting a pretty sweet ride)
*yes we’ve overachieved, but the job is just beginning, and far from over
    *NO GUTS = NO GLORY

    (Note to Team)
How do you want to be remembered at the end of this season??!!

Carbonneau is a bad coach period.

He should have coached couple years AHL and earned his way up.
I am sure Gainey wishes he had gone to a vet coach like Hitchcock who professionally understands coaching - lineups and player’s ice times etc.

If they lose tonight, Carbonneau is gone - but its a shame he even stayed this long.

If we win, we’d be putting them on the golf course. No? It’s difficult for a Game 7 to be won without someone going golfing afterwards. Yes? Wait, now I’ve confused myself. If this were Game 6 and not Game 7, then there would only be a 50% chance of someone being put on the golfcourse. Right? But since this is Game 7, there is a 100% chance that someone will be put on the golfcourse. And if the Habs are the ones to win, then there is a 100% chance that it will be the Boston Bruins that are put on the golfcourse. Of course!

Perhaps they can play tonight’s game on the golf course, as a sort of segue to the very near future.

Calgary could have played San Jose on the golf course last night - it was -10. That way Joe Thornton could have practiced his golf swing whilst playig a little hockey.

Is it possible that an inspired Bruins team is simply too much for the Habs to handle? There might be more to this series than the Habs frame of mind - they might be incapable of matching the physical play and intensity of the Bruins.

I don’t believe the bruins will outhit us tonight. Maybe not having that cushion, will provide the habs with that urgency to win.

I’m just guessing, but spending the pre-game hours down-talking Carbo and company isn’t likely to help anything and is quite likely to make you look like a fair-weather fan and a bit of a baby.

It’s been a great series and I expect the Habs to clean up the small mess they’ve made tonight with ease. Price loves the pressure; we just need a couple of goals to make it official.

    GO HABS GO!

Hey BruinsFan. I have a terrible feeling of dread that the Habs are going to get killed like in Game 5, lol. My gut feeling is a 6-3 win for Boston. But do I ever hope I’m wrong. Any other serious, gut feeling predictions? Habs fans obviously hope the Habs win, but what’s your “sixth hockey sense” telling you?

My gut is telling me a really really quick goal for Montreal, and then the Bell Centre goes nuts. I have a sickening feeling that the B’s will go down by two goals. At which point I will start pounding beers. I haven’t been this nervous since the superbowl and we all know how that went for Boston fans!

I used to be one of them to but hey dude! We are 14 years later, get over it!!!!! Now, if your preference is an american team….!!! WTF? We have the chance to have a team in the province of hockey dude, so let’s follow the wave!
Now scream for your team, they absolutely deserve it with the season they had.

Let’s get back on the track and stop the loosing streak.

If I had to say, Im thinking 3-1 Montreal right now. I’m not doubting my team at all, it just makes me feel better if I lessen the expectations! I went into this series hoping to get one game, now I feel like they deserve to win it and any less would be a dissappointment. There are some tense hockey fans right now both sides of the border.

Those are just pre-game jitters, for the fans. No one knows what will transpire tonight. All we know at this point is that the Bruins have all the confidence in the world right now as they’ve been able to impose their will upon the Habs the past two, perhaps even four games. So the Habs have got to find a way to rise to the challenge if they’ve any hopes of advancing tonight.

As I said, the worst thing that the Habs could have done in this series is lose a game. That got an enormous monkey off of the Bruins’ backs and gave them confidence, and they’ve been building on it ever since.

An American, a Scot and a Canuk were in a terrible car accident. They were all brought to the same emergency room, but all three of them died before they arrived. Just as they were about to put the toe tag on the American, he stirred and opened his eyes. Astonished, the doctors and nurses present asked him what happened.

“Well,” said the American, “I remember the crash, and then there was a beautiful light, and then the Canadian and the Scot and I were standing at the gates of heaven. St. Peter approached us and said that we were all too young to die, and that for a donation of $100, we could return to the earth.”

He continued, ” So of course, I pulled out my wallet and gave him the $100, and the next thing I knew I was back here.”

“That’s amazing!” said one of the doctors, “But what happened to the other two?”

“Last I saw them,” replied the American, “the Scot was haggling over the price and the Canadian was waiting for the government to pay for his.”

Frog I disagreed with my fellow habs fans and I disagree with you, this Boston team had a good record all year except against Montreal there were only 10 point separating the top 8 and that is only a win or a loss either way. I am not sure who your team is but I have always respected Boston and they ahve some very good players on their team. If you think they are 8 string then you do not know much about hockey. Oh you might know how to count because they did finish in 8th but then again with one game left they could have finished in sixth if Pittsburg hadn’t tanked. They were certainly better than Ottawa. I expect that you are just on this site to cause problems. Sounds that way anyway.

They are owned by the jacobs family who really are more concerned with consession sales at the TD Banknorth Garden rather than putting a decent product on the ice. As far as them being an 8th string and not knowing much about hockey, I do know that pretty much everyone gets in, and when you are number 8 and fight to get that spot all year… your probably not a threat.. make sense?

Hey Joseph what do you think about our character tonight. They had their backs to the wall and we came through. All the players that had to play well tonight did. Our checking line played their usual good game, Koivu ignited some fire under Kovalev along with Carbo and the Kost Brothers were motivated by playing together. I said last game that Plex and Andre seem to be looking for Kovalev last game and he disappeared. Without him on the line they had to rely on themselves and Sergi. Even Lappiere lines played very well.

I have always believed that if you are good enough to make the playoff you are good enough to win the cup. It takes all the good things to happen and you need a few breaks but most teams are good teams if they make it to the show.

No offense taken, Xtrahabsfan. To tell you the truth, I really wish that they’d do away with the national anthem thing altogether so we wouldn’t have to contend with the nonsense that comes along with it. These are franchises, loaded with mostly Canadian and European players, and not Team Canada versus Team U.S.A.

That said, they do something impressive in Buffalo. Not too sure if many peope know about it, but they sing the Canadian anthem even when the Sabres are playing another American franchise.

Carbo did what he had to do tonight, it was hard to do it earlier because Koivu was not playing, and as far as motivating Kovalev, Carbo did it at the right time, when the game was on the line. That is a smart coach, if you do it too early then it become old hat and players stop listening to you. He made all the right moves at the right time and consequently we are going on to the second round.

There was only one thing that bothered me about tonights game, it was the worst game of the series for Brisebois, he made some terrible decisions with the puck tonight and it reminded me why we let him go a few years ago. Overall he played a good series better than I expected, I only hope that his bad passing tonight goes away before the next game.

habs4life, I am not sure what you mean by trade for Price, because if you are saying that Gainey should trade Price that would be the worst move any GM could make. Everyone know that you go absolute nowhere in the playoffs without a great goaltender. Most Teams like to build from the net out, and if you got a goalie like Price he is the last player any GM should trade.

Stength up the middle starts with the goalie. Now that the Habs have a decent team we may be able to convince a few UFA to come our way. To me will still need a number one centre and If I were drafting that is what I would be looking for, tha and another big mobile defenseman and a power forward who can skate. That is my wish list, Oh one other thing at least two of the three would be Canadian boys.

Kojack. there is not a fan base in any rink in the NHL that does not boo the refs when they think a call should be made and it is not so if anyone should wake up it should be you. And besides, isn’t that what the home team wants the fans to get aroused and make noise and gete involved in the game. Come on you are nit picking.

Joseph, I thought Komisarek played his best game tonight, he looks like he is almost back to full strenght. He was skating better tonight and hitting better and his shot blocking also improved. Good to see he is ready to play for the second round, NOW if we could get Markov playing a little more steady. I thought Hamrlik was our best defenceman overall in the series, but he did look a little tired at the end of the last few games. These next couples of days off should help him and Steit too. He played a better game tonight, and it looks like his hip may be coming around as well. Overall, all the injuried players who came back looked strong tonight, that bodes well for the next round.

rhabs4real, I was reading your earlier blog, I guess you questions were answered. Carbo made the key changes to his lineup, sometimes it is not the players that need to be changed it is the rotation of the players. I thought the Kost brothers especially Sergie played tough all night, he played that way in London Junior A so he knows how to play it tough and agressive. Andre not so tough, but when he plays with his kid brother he seems to play better. Plex, all he needed was to realize that Kovaleve was not there to help and he played extremely well to me the last three games but needed some help that he did not get from Kovalev.

As far as O’Byrne is concerned he will see some action again in the next series, but I agree with Carbo, I would go with experience. Same goes for Latendresse he actually had his chance is did not show most of the time so he needs a wakeup call and not in a game seven. What has Dandeneault has played well, he scored a key goal and has played well defensively. Like Steit Dandenault is valuable because he can play both forward and defense, so if you get in trouble back on the blue line you have someone to move back if needed. Dandenault is not there to score goals, and he steadys Lappiere’s line. I cannot think of one player I would have put in the lineup that was not already there tonight. Ryder got sat out and then played again and he did nothing, not everyone can play on the first two lines and I liked what I saw on those two lines tonight. If Ryder does come back in the next series, he needs to show the coach that it does not matter what line he is one he will play hard, something he did not do when he came back after being sat out.

PISSED OFF HABS FAN, I guess it is hard for some fans to just understand good coaching, Carbo may not be the best coach but he is getting better and he made all the right moves tonight. He used the right players, he motivated them in the proper way and he got his defense to move the puck better out of their own end again. For a Habs fan you should be anything but pissed off, but then again, I expect you did not feel we had a chance to win tonight. I can always tell the true habs fans by their blogs, because as much as we all want to see our team play better, the ones who are true habs fans show faith in their team and their coach.

habs4life, Carbo was asked about the lineup change after the game, and he said he had thought about it all day and decided he would give it a try. Why not he had nothing to loose, if his best offensive player was going to play he had to try to motivate him somehow, so he moved him with Koivu but more important he talked to him today and told him that he had to keep adjusting to big Chara, and keep trying different things because he had been successful in the past and he had to convince himself that he could be successful again. Carbo was directly responsible for Kovalev coming to play tonight.

My hat’s off to a Bruins team that played excellent playoff hockey and showed more talent and determination than I thought they could ever muster. They proved to be more than excellent competition and that they have some impressive young talent on their team. Also I would like to add that coach Julien is clearly a very good coach and a master at getting the most out of the players he has. The Devils orginization was very foolish to fire such a great coach in the way that they did.

Well, that was an interesting series, what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.
Hopefully the Habs rookies got a genuine flavor for the post season.
I have to admit I’m a little worried about the way Markov has been playing, hasn’t seemed like himself. As far as the the comments about beating “the eighth seeded Bruins” What a load of ****, yes they had a dismal record against Les Glorieux all year, seems to me that roles were fairly reversed not so long ago.
The playoffs are what you fight for, when your whole season is “the playoffs”
you should be that much more prepared, and the Bruins were, in this “new” NHL
parody rules, anyone can beat anyone in any given round. No exceptions.

I never would have foreseen Dallas whoopin on Anaheim, or Calgary taking SJ seven. I thought the Devils were like money in the bank come playoff time.

I was worried at the end of the season that the boys were peaking a little prematurely, I hope that the 4 game lull was their mini slump. I believe this team has what it takes to get to the finals, but like many a Red Wings team, did they blow their wad scrappin for first, only time will tell….

I can honestly say that I saw some complacency in the third period of the second game, the urgency was lacking. The tempo was slowing down and that’s when the momentum began to shift. Tonight we saw that urgency back, in the latter part of the first, and throughout the rest of the game.

Hope we keep it up against the Rangers (or Philly, but I doubt it)

As for the booing the national anthem, The US arrogance has been wearing thin on the rest of the world for a while now, it’s sad because it’s not the general population that is to blame, it’s the smug leadership and it’s propaganda that are alienating American’s from all their cousins, not just the ones to the North.

Happy Playoffs to me, happy playoffs to me….

Best year in long time folks, enjoy it and please stop bashing Carbs

And with the looting and vandalism…you cannot let the actions of say 100 people out of 21,000 give Habs fans and the city of Montreal a bad rap. The Montreal police force should spend less time giving tickets on Saturday an Sunday mornings and dedicate more time practising their tactical skills. I am as embarrassed of the police’s ability to handle the riot as I am of the people you caused the damage.

I don’t commend the people who caused the damage; however, if the police were better trained; most of the mess could have been prevented. They showed up in the crowded areas too late, their presence should have been evident prior to everyone hitting the streets. Some interviewed even mentioned the problems only started when the cops showed up! The police seemed extremely novice in handling such a incident. The city doesn’t even have a helicopter!!

    Nadeen:

Those were the actions of a very small minority. Every fanbase has its minority of idiots (whether you realize it or not), and in some places, they act on their idiocy more than they do in others. While in other places, the media acts on their idiocy more than it does in others. It’s just a fact of life.

As to the media focussing on it and blowing it up for the sake of a story, that’s what the media does. It takes bad news and magnifies it, leaving the viewer almost thinking that it’s not ever safe to go outside again after a Habs game. How absolutely silly.

As to the anthem booing nonsense, same thing. I heard more of a buzz in the Bell Centre during the anthem than I did actual boos. And following the U.S. anthem, I also heard a pretty sizeable, collective round of applause and cheers.

Some people will always focus on the negatives to express their displeasure after a loss, or just to take a shot at someone. Some people behave like the media does in this way. And some people need to find something better to do with their time, in my opinion. Think about it…

“Oh, man. What a disgrace that your classless fans were booing the U.S. anthem last night (translation: misdirected anger about something other than anthem booing). I mean, I’m not even a Bruins fan or anything, but wow (translation: someone lacking anything better to do with his or her time.). But you guys should be ashamed! How classless (translation: subject has taken up ’**** disturbing’ as a hobby)!”

Overall translation: an incredibly myopic view of the world by some disgruntled fans.

been awhile on here…..I have to say that was one hell of a ride….put a little **** in my pants!! I was scared 3-3….but now that the ugly bears are out of the way, Philly or the Rangers, should, or I hope will not be as hard a series…..either way Habs 4-2. Right from the start I’m thinking they are on a collision course with the Pens for the C-final

Look it,from eye witness fans “about 1/2 hour after leaving the bell center and evey one is singing and then the cops show up swinging…….”that explains the fried cop cars. Don’t believe every thing you hear people, ie weapons of mass destruction, lol .Lets just imagine that being you and your with your ol lady and a police man takes a swing at the both of you ,just barly missing your lady….so you go and try to ask the cop “what are you doing?”and then get pushed…**** will happen….

The way I see it, when the Habs are skating, but especially “moving their feet”, nobody can beat them. Their defensive strategy last night spoke volumes to this.Last night they beat Boston to just about every puck, and with Price “feeling it”, they could go ATW.
For some of the older guys, doesn’t Lapierre’s style remind you of Claude Provost, and Kostopoulos’s that of “Busher” Curry? Saku may not be the Rocket, but I got a REALLY GOOD FEELING about this team.
I can see a really big parade on Sherbrooke St. in June.

    Pissed Off Habs Fan,
I feel for you about Ryder, but if he had a French name he wouldn’t even be cleaning the ice. There is probably pressure on Carbo (from the “front office”)
to field a team more “representative” of Canadian society, and Ryder is really a token. The guy can’t go to his left and “telegraphs” every shot. How did he even get into the NHL?

can someone please tell me where I can get a habs car flag? which store in Montreal? I really wish I could go see a game at the Bell centre, but just can’t afford the tickets. I’ve a habs fan for over 30 years, but have never neen to the bell centre. I guess I’ll have to wait till the fall.
for the first time in 25 years, this team seems to be building a winner, not just a 1 year fluke winner. nice to see the pride and respectability back for this franchise. That can only help persuade UFA’s to sign with us this summer. And next year, we’ll be even better.

Teenie, weenie and Euro **** roaches. Now look at our next opponent, Rangers..Avery, Jagr, Straka, Shanny, Drury, Gomez..and Vezina winner..Lundquist. Also have great young stars like Dubby and Dawes. More on the way, AND MONTREAL DOESNT DESERVE A COUPLE OF STARS? tHATS BECAUSE 21,273 FANS ATTEND EVERY GAME. iF THAT STOPPED, THIS TEAM WOULD GET OFF ITS LOSER *** AND DO SOMETHING.

Why is everyone so pissed off? Yes Boston pushed us to 7 games, but watching all other east games and either than Pittsburgh no other team was better than the bruins. The boston bruins played us great and now the next team to play the habs will get crushed. Montreal has a great team and I haven’t lost any confidence. Carbonneau is the best coach in the nhl. Go Habs Go and Go Philly I want the flyers to play Montreal!

Guys these are the types of comments I am talking about, if you guys are truely habs fans then Datara your comment should be at the very least that you think we can beat either the Flyers or the Rangers. Likewise Xtrahabsfan, please live up to your name.

I admit I get upset when I see our team not playing up to its potential or shying away from hitting etc. But gee guys I bet you were the same guys who said after game two the Boston would beat us, game three really proved your point right! Game four you started to show some sign of being a habs fan but Game 5 and 6 by then you had us buried and playing golf, not once did you have any faith in this team and their ability to over come adversity. Come if you are truely habs fans you will cheer your team and have faith that they can win. The True habs fans on this blog complain when we loose and make suggestions on how we should play next game, but the one thing they do is show faith that we can win.

I predicted that we would beat Boston in 5 maybe 6 games, I was wrong about the number of games but right as far as the win. So at the expense of being criticized especially from our doubting thomas’ habs fams, here are my predictions for round 2.

If we play Philly, I truely believe that Philly will be easier to play against than Boston, their goaltending is not as good and their defence is slower and they have fewer wingers that hit as hard as the Boston wingers. I predict if we play Philly we will take them out in 6.

If we play the rangers, this should be a close series could go seven games but we have better speed than they do, we hit about the same as they do and we both have good goaltending. I believe that our power play will come alive in this series and we will win in seven.

So there guys chew on that for a while, but I do not want to hear negatives from true habs fans.

Ryder, ryder, Ryder, what do we do with Ryder? Well when he played the first game he came out hitting and skating and shooting the puck and played one hell of a game. In game two he started playing the same way but by the end of the game he was nowhere to be found. He was sat out and then reinstirted into the lineup and again no where to be found. I was really excited about how he was playing at first, and there is no doubt he can play if he wants to. My only regret is that we will probably lose him to UFA this summer withoug getting anything for him. Honestly, I was hoping that Gainey could get a least a firth rounder for him. He may get another chance in the next series but he has to show up or otherwise he is out for good.

172 Adriana Fagano: Well Adriana, if I have said it once I have said ie many times since January that we need a #1 centre ice man who is big and can score and is willing to hit. What we need is a 6′3″ 230 pound Saku koivu. In the last blog I suggested in the off season we needed three things, a big #1 Centre, a power forward and a big strong defenceman who can skate and shoot the puck.

Now we may have the defenceman in Obyrne and we may have the power forward in Stewart?? But it is going to be hard to find a #1 centre with size that can also lead the team that has decent offensive abilities. Well Vinney comes to mind but I think we will have to wait for his contract to run out in Tampa Bay before we can take a run at him, so we will probably have to either make a trade or get our centreman from the draft. Now picking #29 is not going to cut it so we have to make a trade to get a guy like that which means we have to give up some good players to get him.

Of course there is always the FA market and if we can get a good one then we will have some talented players that we will have to trade to make room for him.

Also we have to make room for Obryne and Stewart for next year which means good bye to Ryder and Brisebois. There are a couple of other players the may be ready to move up from Hamilton as well, in Pavel Valentenko and Kyle Chipchura so we may have to trade someone in order to make room for these guys as well. I guess my point is we have now got some depth that we have not had for some time and that depth may be our ticket to a #1 Centreman.

Apparently you haven’t been to Montreal, BruinsFan. The Habs may mean a lot, but that city has a hell of lot more to offer than just hockey. A hell of a lot more.

As to the rioting, don’t believe everything that you read or hear. The media loves to take the minute idiotic portion of the fanbase and put them in the spotlight as if they were the ambassadors to Habsville. Do some people take it too far and act like imbeciles? Yes, but they comprise about 1% of the fanbase.

    Congrats Habs Fans!!!!

I was able to watch the game in a local Beantown watering hole, and the comments at the start of the game where “wow…look at that atmosphere”. I spent a little bit of time studying in Montreal in the mid-90’s, and even got the good fortune of being at the last game in ‘96 at the old Forum between the habs and stars. I guess that was the day when I got it…the Habs mean everything to the city, just as the Sox mean everything to Boston. Last night (in my opinion) is when the Bell Center “became” the new home of the Habs.

    Game Summary in a nutshell”
1st Period: Bruins dominate, Habs Score, Bruins continue to press, Price is Priceless.
2nd Period: Habs score 2nd goal, Bruins lose confidence, series over!!!

127 habs4life: Yes, out of Beantown, the largest b’s are in Montreal, they are also in the Maritimes (based on proximity)

Why so many B’s fans in Montreal? Blame it on the Montreal Maroons who folded in 1938 based on financial difficulty as a result of the great depression. The NHL governors decided to fold the team, and leave Montreal with simply the Habs. The Maroons had primarily a English fan base, while the Habs had the French fan base. Many Maroons fans joined the Habs, some others joined the Leafs (most of them left in the 1970’s down the 401West..goodbye!), but other former Maroons fans decided to cheer for the Bruins because many of their players went to Boston….so there you have it.

    Joseph:
It been a blast, thanks for having me. I’ll chime in from time to time during the next series (hope you guys get Flyers, and not the BlueShirts). Most of my blogging continues with the upcoming NFL Draft (no, I’m not a Patriots fan…I’m a Raiders fan…god help me!)

    JohnS:

My Raiders affiliation comes from my days living as a child in the Bay Area (my dad was in the military, so we moved a lot). I can’t stand the Pats and their pretty boy, system-dependent QB.

I guess you don’t know yet…the Fins just signed the OT Jake Long to a $60M deal…therefore, he will be their first pick this saturday. Now, there is even greater hope that C.Long is available at the 4 spot if the Rams take Dorsey, and the Falcons take Matt Ryan.

Ok habs fans…I leaving to go have a chat with a raider-hater blogger.

Good luck with those filthy/dirty flyers.

Senet, I see my error, I didn’t mean that I didn’t think we could beat either team, I meant that I doubted that it would be Philly we faced, having lost game 6 in Philly (I thought Philly was done for), I personally don’t see a team in the league that the Habs can’t skate with, as far as the Rangers, I think that the 5 goal come back was the real turning point for the boys, I actually believe the Rangers will take Pittsburgh in 6, Habs in 6 with Philly, Habs in 5 or 6 with the Rangers. The Sharks do kind of scare me, but I the only team that can beat us is us.

I have never been a negative Habs fan, even during the worst year’s, as I mentioned in previous post, one of my proudest moments was when Koivu came back from cancer and they beat the B’s.

It’s playoff hockey, anything can happen, but I feel a certain magic in the air…..

Hey Senet, no problem, after I read it again I can see how it could have misunderstood, after all it’s so hard to find any negative comments about was supposed to have been (in most “expert” opinions)a non playoff team.

Why can’t we all just take this for what it is, a rebuilding process that has gone very, very right with a very bright future to look forward to.

cup no cup, I don’t care it has been a real pleasure to watch this team for me
since I was only 8 years old.

About that time my interest in hockey began, one year my dad thought it would be neat to take me to an NHL game. Most of my uncles etc. including my dad were Leafs fans, I didn’t really know the difference but just to be rebellious I picked the Flyers. I think it had to be 78 or so, dad takes me to Vancouver to see the Habs and Nucks, being a BC boy I should have been cheering for Van,but in the pre-game skate (we had awesome seats, rink level)Lafleur skates by and winks, coulda been at the hottie behind me , maybe something in his eye, who knows
but at 8 years old he winked at ME. From that point on I was habs encyclopedia.
I was an awkward loner as a youngster, it was just me and my beloved habs, of course at the peak of the dynasty.I grew out of my awkward loner stage, but the kid that Lafleur winked has always been in me, people ask me if I’m a hockey fan, I say no I’m a habs fan, there is no hockey if Montreal isn’t playing…
