The Habs haven’t been too convincing as of late.
Tonight they visit the Senators, whom they handled fairly easily last week and came away with a 4-0 win. Confidence should not be an issue, should it?
New lines for tonight:
Latendresse - Koivu - Tanguay
Higgins - Plekanec - Kovalev
A.Kostitsyn - Lang - Kostopoulous
Laraques - Begin - S. Kostitsyn

- PACTUM SERVA : our boy PK is looking good though
- PACTUM SERVA : How hickey was drafted so high is beyond me
- PACTUM SERVA : Is it just me or has hickey been a total bumb this whole tournament at the WJC
- Senet1 : I am not so sure that any of our players should be at the allstar game, but if I were to have any it would be Price and Komy. The ALL Star selection last year did not help Markov one bit and he played some of his worst hockey after the break, especially in the playoffs. To me Price has played well and is one reason we are fourth ing the standings. Komy has improved out defence since returning and id obviously valuable to our team. The rest of the guys need to get the extra rest and get health
- habs#1fan : Everyone (non Habs fans) needs to quit bitching and whining and deal with it, or do away with the voting process altogether. Let the League itself decide. Oh yeah then we would have an all star team full of Laffs. GO HABS GO!!!!!!!
- habs#1fan : But the bottom line is it was a voting process and the Habs have a ton of fans obviously.
- habs#1fan : So friggin sick of the bitchin and whinin everyone is doing about the all star selections. Price and Markov are there and justifiably so. Komi is one of the leagues best hitter and shot blocker as we all know. Kovy is the only questionable one, Ovechkin should have probably got it.
- PACTUM SERVA : vote as many times as you like
- PACTUM SERVA : «link»
- PACTUM SERVA : Vote price and komisarek as they are the ones that need our votes
- PACTUM SERVA : Pittsburgh fans are making a push for that dipsh@t fleury ans gonchar so get your votes in
- PACTUM SERVA : Hey guys just of note but today is the last day you can vote for the allstar game intill 9pm tonight
- PACTUM SERVA : but i am sure the habs brass knows all this right?
- PACTUM SERVA : pickin's for the other team just like what philly did to us last year
- PACTUM SERVA : Even if we did we would be so banged uped and bruise that come the second round it would be easy pickin
- PACTUM SERVA : Ask yourself this....do you honestly think we can beat boston or philly in a seven game series with our current roster?
- PACTUM SERVA : I understand that any team can be beaten on any given night but unless the habs get a little more muscle up front this team is going knowhere fast
- PACTUM SERVA : Tampa came out with a game plan.....Hit and hit hard....hit anything that moves. When teams do that to the habs they run and hide under a rock.
- PACTUM SERVA : Well to me i kind of do get worried when these teams below 500 give us trouble. Are we not suppose to be a cup contender this year?
- Senet1 : Personally, guys would not be so upset about us having trouble beating TB. Every team has their one or two teams that they have problems with, and it does not matter if they are a high or low place team. That team just gives them fits. The more important test was been to date is the Philly game and the Detroit game as well as the Pittsburgh game. We came to play in those games and won them. Tampa will give us trouble until Laclavier and St. Louis no longer play for that team. Really I expe
- flyinghab : pricey's stance was that of Oussain Bolt in the olympics
- flyinghab : to all in here a happy new year !
- flyinghab : hey PS
- PACTUM SERVA : I loved price's superman pose after he stopped vinny lol
- PACTUM SERVA : well tampa continues to give us a hard time.
- Dancan81 : Man the Habs are boring to watch sometimes.
- PACTUM SERVA : I dont want to get picky but the habs still need to work on alot of areas in their game, but 2 points is 2 points
- VanHab : well thankfully we weathered that storm
- VanHab : just like Carolina...it's a parade to the penalty box
- flyinghab : Hey PS... yep we need to put the cats and the lights out of their misery with two big convincing wins ... like the CDN juniors
- PACTUM SERVA : Time to break the silence. We need to beat the panthers tonight. Hope they come out with a point to prove
- Senet1 : Merry Christmas Habs fans, it has been great chatting with all of you over the year, here is hoping we turn the corner and improve our play in the second half, or maybe we should just peak at playoff time. Anyway, looks like we are going to have to beat the bruins again this year to move on.
- Dancan81 : Merry Christmas Habbers! Cheers to an awesome New Year, go Habs!
- PACTUM SERVA : Hey guys just wanna wish everyone here on HABSBLOG.COM Happy Holidays and a safe new year. Once again i would like to thank HB himself for all the hard work he puts in the site for all of us hab fans to enjoy. Cheers to the habs ripping it up in the new year.
- habs#1fan : A early xmas gift 8-2 Laffs embarrased. I said it before, me personally the next best thing to a Hab victory is a Laff loss. Thanks Santa. All things considered we are in OK shape. Not making excuses and all those other typical cliches but injuries have been a big factor. Along with average play by a great deal of the team. GO HABS GO

That fourth line isn’t a line, it’s a message. The Kostitsyn’s have each moved one place down the depth chart.

Way to go carbo nice line up. What? is this your first day on the job? When most teams that struggle usually only change the first two line carbo feels the need to change all four lines. This is brutal coaching at its best. Here is an idea, why not move brisbois and obyrne to the forward posistion and get youppi to center them. Just when you think carbo seems to be getting better as an nhl coach he goes and sticks s. kostitsyne on a line with laraque and begin and puts kostopoulos on with lang and and a. kostitsyne. Way to go carbo you meat head

lol
I don’t see the problem. Laraque is a pure goal scorer and Kostopolous has hands that could stick-handle an egg. With the Kostitsyn brothers grinding in the corners for these guys, I think Laraque might break out of his 13 season goal-scoring slump and this could be just the combination that Kostopolous needs to show off his new stick-handling moves.

Why can’t we have more players like Brooks Laich?
http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog/Eklund/Brooks-Laich-With-A-Penalty-Kill-for-The-Ages/1/17985
We just need to limit the shots (get in the way of them) and play defensive positioning.
Losing Komi is such a big blow to us defensively.
I don’t know how many times I see us out of position.
Carbo needs to teach these guys how to play without the puck.
Go back to the basics!
November 21, 2008 pm30 3:56 pm
This team is in serious need of some shots. They simply haven’t been doing the things offensively that made them successful last year and at the beginning of this year. Enough of these feeble give-away passes though the neutral zone. Get the puck in and put it on net. There is so much offensive talent on this team that they have forgotten how to score.

Re; Sundin. Win-win for Gaigney. He lets Mats know that the Habs are still an option, and he sends a message to some of his player–hey, you are actually playing for your job!
November 21, 2008 pm30 9:40 pm
As much as i would like to see sundin in montreal i just cant see him signing here. I was glad to see the whole sundin thing behind us and now its back. I doubt he would ever play for the red, white and blue but strangers things have happened i guess. Watch him sign with nashville lol. My bet is with the leafs though or rangers. I hope he pulls out his tampon soon and makes up his mind.

Sundin is a tool alright, but not the kind that’s used to tweak Stanley Cup contenders. No thanks.
