  • Game 13: Habs/Hawks

Our Habbies are in Chicago tonight to face the Blackhawks who roll into tonight’s action with a 7-4-1 which is good enough for 3rd place in their Western Conference. The Hawks have been on everyone’s radar since their playoff run last season and the off-ice shananigans of Pat Kane in the summer. If there is one franchise in the league who’s fans can understand that scenario – it is us. Espially now since we are enduring our own shananigans with Kane’s former junior linemate Sergei K.

I don’t know what it is about the Hawks – they’ve always been my second team. Maybe its because they were never a threat to beat the Habs. I’m not sure. One thing I do know is that if the Habs can pull ut a victory tonight, they will be in a much better place when they return home to face the Maple Leafs on Saturday night for the Halloween version of Hockey Night in Canada.

    Go Habs Go!

  • Game 12: Habs/Pens

This is one of those can’t miss games. Anytime the defending champs are on your schedule you circle it in thick red. Montreal is shooting for their fifth straight – but there aren’t many of us who believe the hype yet. Beating the Isles twice, the Thrashers and the Rangers isn’t exactly bragging territory. Still, a good result tonight will go a long way to showing what this team is made of.

The Pens are 9-2, and are really playing some good hockey in this young season. Malkin has 13 points and Crosby has 11. They will also be very fresh and motivated as they last played (and lost) last saturday.

The Habs play tonight in Pittsburgh, Friday in Chicago, and Saturday back home against the Laffs.
