  • Game 17: Habs/Islanders

Taking a night course on Thursday nights was just about the worst idea I’ve ever had. I signed up well before the start of the NHL season thinking “whatever.. they’re probably going to stink anyway”. On a Thursday night where the Habs are putting their Eastern Conference lead, and their 5 game winning streak on the line? Ya its going to be tough to give half of 1 sh!t about whatever nonsense my prof is on about tonight.

Montreal welcomes the Islanders into town for what actually has all the markings of a game that could be an entirely disappointing one, given Montreal’s historical propensity for laying total eggs when playing teams that they by all rights – should destroy. That isn’t to say that the Islanders don’t have very good players. John Tavares, Matt Moulson and Mark Streit can play on my team any day of the week. Still, Montreal is clearly the better of the two teams – and though I can’t watch tonight, it will be interesting to see how the Habs fare tonight.

  • Game 16: Habs/Rangers

Montreal is in New York City tonight facing the Blue Shirts in what should be a very interesting match up for a team that suddenly finds itself riding a 4 game winning streak. The Rangers had a rough start to the season, but are 7-2-1 over their last 10 games. This team is good and tonight should be an opportunity for the Habs to really measure themselves up against an incredible lineup. Montreal was fantastic against Eric Staal, Alex Semin, and Jiri Tlusty. They’ve been good to start the season, but they aren’t Richards, Gaborik, and Nash.

Cam Ward has been good as well. but he isn’t Henrik Lundqvist. There is no point to mentioning Carolina’s defense. New York is much better.

Brendan Gallagher is still out with a concussion, so Ryan White will continue to center the 4th line – which he did very well last night.

    A big Tuesday night game!

    Go Habs Go!!!
