  • Habs extend the Cube/Frankie-the-Bull/Soups/Bouillon

The Canadiens have announced that they have signed Francis Bouillon to a one-year extension of his current one-year deal with the Club. It has been reported elsewhere that this deal will carry the same dollar value of $1.5M. Given how Bouillon has played this season for the CH, one has to think this is a great bridge-type deal for the Canadiens. They have a wave of young talent that will be ready to move up to the NHL over the next few years, but in the meantime, Montreal has a need for competitive veterans that can provide value. Bouillon is exactly that. The deal doesn’t sink the Canadiens from a financial standpoint, and Bouillon’s skillset as a guy who plays a physical game, yet with the ability to move the puck effectively, makes him a valuable contributor tot he new-look Habs.

    Go Habs Go!!

  • Game 29: Habs/Sabres

Montreal will face Buffalo tonight for the first meeting of two this week for the two North East Division “rivals”. My tendancy has always to be to expect the Canadiens to come out flat versus the weaker opponent – though this year I’m having to reset my expectations. Its amazing what 28 games of winning hockey will do to a guy!

Michael Ryder is back in the lineup tonight which means that Michael Blunden has been returned to Hamilton. Jarred Tinordi will play with Francis Bouillon once more.

    Go Habs Go!!!!
