  • Game 27: Habs/Laffs

Tonight the Habs begin a 3 games in 4 nights stretch against the Maple Leafs, who blow into town fresh off of a 3-0 loss to the Buffalo Sabres. While you would hope Montreal can take advantage of a worn out opponent, Habs-Leafs history tells us to temper our expectations. This game could go any way the wind gusts. As of 11:30 there is no word on who will start in net tonight, or which injured players will be back in the line-up. Here’s hoping the Habs collect 2 points tonight as they face a tough test against Buffalo Thursday and then face Boston in the official 100th Anniversary of our beloved franchise.

*Edit: Gomez and D’Agostini will be back in the lineup tonight. Carey will make his 9th consecutive start.

  • Game 26: Habs/Caps

Its Saturday night and the Habs take on the Washington Capitals at Centre Bell ce soir. The couple days off following the loss to the Penguins has afforded the Canadiens with the opportunity they desperately needed to rest and heal. Unfortunately they will still be fairly short-handed tonight. Jacques Martin will dress 7 defenseman with Jay Leach possibly playing some minutes at forward.  We’ll have to wait and see whether Gomez, Pouliot or D’Agostini are added to the lineup at the last minute. Can the Habs pull off another upset against an elite opponent? Can Carey continue his fantastic play? Can the Habs make it through 60 minutes without suffering another injury?
