Montreal V Buffalo has been real weird this season. Should Montreal just let Buffalo control the puck all game? It hasn’t worked the other way around. Let’s hope Montreal can get on the board early and often to put this one out of control before Buffalo can sit back and all-out-defend like they have so far when these two teams meet.

The Montreal Canadiens will see the resurgent Washington Capitals tonight, and will need to be aware at all times of the Great 8, Alex Ovechkin. Ovie is on absolute fire currently, tied with Steve Stamkos for the league lead in goals. The former Rocket Richard trophy winner has regained the form that at one time made him the most dangerous goal scorer in the NHL. Montreal will luckily have a dangerous goal scorer in their lineup as well, as Max Pacioretty, who had been injured in practice is penciled into the lineup.

So too is Rene Bourque who has suffered long in recovery from a concussion. Word on the street is that Bourque will slot in with Jeff Halpern and Travis Moen, and I would bet that his minutes will be monitored heavily by Michel Thierrien. The Montreal Canadiens have to be excited to have Bourque back in the lineup. Before his unfortunate injury, Bourque was very effective on a line with Tomas Plekanec and Brian Gionta. Bourque was one of the few Montreal players early in the season who was able to create traffic in front of the net. With 10 points in 17 games, Bourque will be a welcome addition to whatever line he ends up on, and once again Montreal will start to enjoy some offensive depth.

    Habs/Caps! Always a fun game.
