    For the first time this season the Canadiens showed an ugly side to their game allowing 6 goals in Saturday’s loss to the Ducks.

    The Habs came out flat after a long lay off and found themselves down early. Is Jaroslav Halak alone to take the blame or were the Habs as a team weak defensively? Was Chris Higgins as sharp as he normally is? Was Andrei Markov? Why can’t the Canadiens seem to beat the strong Western Conference teams?

    The good news is the Habs are healthy. AK46 will soon make his return to the lineup. The not so good news is the Hurricanes happen to be the next opponent. The Canes are notorious Hab killers and play especially well in Montreal.

    The Habs will finally resume action tonight against Anaheim after a long layoff which has felt like months.

    The Habs in the peak of a 5 game win streak have not played since Monday. Will the break help or hurt the Canadiens?

    After a brutal start the Ducks have put together a couple wins. Is Anaheim the team that will present the Canadiens their first real challenge?

    Chris Higgins starts his first game of the year, and Jaro Halak will guard the net once again.

    • Senet1 : I am not so sure that any of our players should be at the allstar game, but if I were to have any it would be Price and Komy. The ALL Star selection last year did not help Markov one bit and he played some of his worst hockey after the break, especially in the playoffs. To me Price has played well and is one reason we are fourth ing the standings. Komy has improved out defence since returning and id obviously valuable to our team. The rest of the guys need to get the extra rest and get health
    • habs#1fan : Everyone (non Habs fans) needs to quit bitching and whining and deal with it, or do away with the voting process altogether. Let the League itself decide. Oh yeah then we would have an all star team full of Laffs. GO HABS GO!!!!!!!

    • habs#1fan : So friggin sick of the bitchin and whinin everyone is doing about the all star selections. Price and Markov are there and justifiably so. Komi is one of the leagues best hitter and shot blocker as we all know. Kovy is the only questionable one, Ovechkin should have probably got it.

    • PACTUM SERVA : Ask yourself this....do you honestly think we can beat boston or philly in a seven game series with our current roster?
    • PACTUM SERVA : I understand that any team can be beaten on any given night but unless the habs get a little more muscle up front this team is going knowhere fast
    • PACTUM SERVA : Tampa came out with a game plan.....Hit and hit hard....hit anything that moves. When teams do that to the habs they run and hide under a rock.
    • PACTUM SERVA : Well to me i kind of do get worried when these teams below 500 give us trouble. Are we not suppose to be a cup contender this year?
    • Senet1 : Personally, guys would not be so upset about us having trouble beating TB. Every team has their one or two teams that they have problems with, and it does not matter if they are a high or low place team. That team just gives them fits. The more important test was been to date is the Philly game and the Detroit game as well as the Pittsburgh game. We came to play in those games and won them. Tampa will give us trouble until Laclavier and St. Louis no longer play for that team. Really I expe

    • Senet1 : Merry Christmas Habs fans, it has been great chatting with all of you over the year, here is hoping we turn the corner and improve our play in the second half, or maybe we should just peak at playoff time. Anyway, looks like we are going to have to beat the bruins again this year to move on.

    • habs#1fan : A early xmas gift 8-2 Laffs embarrased. I said it before, me personally the next best thing to a Hab victory is a Laff loss. Thanks Santa. All things considered we are in OK shape. Not making excuses and all those other typical cliches but injuries have been a big factor. Along with average play by a great deal of the team. GO HABS GO
