I reminded myself of the greatest sports video game in history: ’Blades of Steel’ yesterday while ranting about loser points. In tribute we have the pic above which is clearly the Montreal Canadiens vs Edmonton Oilers… n...

Gomez and change for Higgins and change.
Good move?
Did the Habs give up too much? Is Gomez worth all that money?

- Senet1 : Hopefully, if the TB game is any indication they will play hard for the whole game.
- Mats Naslund : That is the fear for sure. They often play down to the competition.. although they were mostly better against TB.
- rocky : Yeah, well I smell a real stinkbomb game coming up. This has been the pattern all year. I would love to be wrong about this.
- Senet1 : I hope that we play the next game with the same intensity as the last four, Edmonton has a habit of playing tough once they are out of the playoffs, so we better be ready.
- Mats Naslund : With EDM and BOS coming up, the Habs have to use this momentum to get things rolling. Keep plugging away Plex and AK46, it'll come. Halak til he drops dead. Go Habs Go!!!
- Senet1 : AK46 starting to throw his weight around and shooting the puck which shich mean he will start scoring scoes soon/
- Senet1 : /the Leafs beat the bruins in OT. Horah for the leafs.
- Senet1 : The guys never quit the entire game so far.
- Senet1 : Since Cammy went down he has to be considered our most valuable offensive player on the team.
- Senet1 : You know the more we get to see Gomez the more you start to wonder if his salary is all that bad. He skates, with speed, checks and it seems like he controls the play every time he is on the ice. You have to admit, most of our offence gets started by his line. He has sure outplayed Vinny tonight so far.
- Senet1 : Startinh to like Darche he goes to the net and gets the rebounds. Hey maybe he is our missing power forward?
- Senet1 : Plek on the bench for the second period.
- Senet1 : Plek is the only top 6 forward that has not been hurt. Can't believe this, I am hoping he just got a knee in the groin and did not pull and tear anything>?????
- Senet1 : Oh Oh Plek hurt, hope not seriously, looks like a knee or a groin.
- Senet1 : It would appear if we score 4 goals we win most games.
- Senet1 : One thing about athletes, they do rehab under professional around the clock care, and lets face it where you and I do it until the knee feels like we can function they continue to build those muscles up around that knee for 12 months of the year. Also because of that when they do get injuried there injury many times is not as bad. Having said they they put their knees under a lot more strain than we do too.
- Senet1 : Goalie I tend to agree if Cammy cannot come back 100% then he should wait until September. Unless of course we beat Washington and Pittsburg, then maybe he might want to come back fo the finals. LOL
- goalie : I too had an MCL operation in Edmonton and at the time I was told that it was not as serious as an ACL. However, in the past 5 years since my operation for me; my knee never regained full strenght (I'd say about 60 - 70%)and unfortunately my doc says the pain I am now experiencing means I'll need a second operation and that is only from the strain of day to day activities as my hockey days are long over. Unless Caammie is 95% or better I'd let him rehab until next Sept. Let's face it , we'r
- goalie : The other day I commented (under the name of Stevehab) on how Latandresse is now in Minnie, We should not however, neglect (as I did) to state that Pouliot has played quite well (play in front of and around the opposition's net, backchecking)and has more than done his job.
- Mats Naslund : Boone over at HI/O put up a really interesting view of our playoff race. We have the easiest remaining sched of the all teams only 40% have winning records. Take a look.
- Senet1 : Just on the internet, it said he did not need surgery? Why did he have surgery?
- rocky : Where did you get your info?
- rocky : That is way better than an acl tear with surgery. He needs to take his time and fully recover as we have him signed to a long term deal.
- Senet1 : With the MCL you can build up the muscles around the knee to support it if he did not have surgery then they must feel it was not totally severed, maybe just stretched badly?? He did say he was still in pain.
- Senet1 : The other good thing is he did not have to have surgery but one thing the report that I read said was he already wears a brace on the left knee and now will wear one onf the right knee too.
- rocky : GOOD NEWS! The report I just read says that the injury is officially listed as MCL tear. That is not NEARLY as bad as tearing the ACL from all the reading I have done on knee injuries. Possibly not a career ender THANK GOD!
- Senet1 : Me too talk to you in a while
- rocky : I am going to check it out and will update you if I find out anything.
- Senet1 : I don't know, I understood he was skating is that right?
- Senet1 : Yes it seems like every good player we get he gets injuried. We are due to have some better luck.
- rocky : How to find out his progress?
- rocky : Pavel Bure had the same injury and it effectively ended his career. This s&cks so bad for us man. Totally cursed the last few years with our star players.
- Senet1 : My knee is now after 30 years bent out of shape and there really is no joint anymore.
- rocky : Take a look some time, really a low blow.
- Senet1 : I have not had the chance to review the hit.
