Alexander Ovechkin hits Montreal

  • After a poor road effort last night, the Canadiens return home to welcome the last place Washington Capitals. The Habs will have to improve their play if they expect to stop the young phenom Alexander Ovechkin.

Ovechkin’s play early on has been excellent, 15 goals to show so far and he has been causing trouble throwing his weight around too. I can’t wait to see what he will do in Montreal. Expect Claude Julien to match up Sundstrom, Begin or Bonk to shadow him shift for shift.

Yann Danis will get the start tonight as Jose Theodore and his sore groin need some time off. It’s obvious Theo isn’t on top of his game, whether it’s due to injury or just poor play he could use a few games on the pine. Danis has done nothing to dissapoint so far in his early season and there’s fewer question marks these days when he gets the start.

The Habs have to win and hopefully win big against one of the worst defence’s and teams in the league.
