Canadiens squeeze by Isles

  • Steve Bégin for President. Steve Bégin scored late in the 3rd to give the Habs a 1 goal edge over the New York Islanders. Bégin has been one of the best Canadiens this year grinding it out on the 4th line, hitting, driving the net, back checking, scoring – he does it all.

Chris Higgins also came through with a clutch goal sliding the puck past Rick Dipietro, Higgins sees very little ice time but is making the most of it.

The grinders are doing they’re job so far, some others are not.

Unfortunatley, the Theodore controversy isn’t any closer to being solved. Miroslav Satan scored a weak goal basically out waiting Theodore who seemed to decide that he didn’t feel like stopping that one. The Islanders put in a late goal to tie the game which should have been shut down after Higgins goal.

Nevertheless, 6-2 has a good ring to it. The powerhouse Flyers should give us a real test on Tuesday.
