I JUST HOPE LATENDRESS MAKES THIS TEAM…..Latendress all the way! If we don’t have a “POWER” forward then Lantendress is the answer. I heard somewhere that he now weights around 225 pounds of muscles! We need this player for this organization. This is terrific! No better news than hearing that Lantendress made the team. The player we need most badly is LATENDRESS [PERIOD]
Almost about to forget about the mighty Kostytsyn…Can someone tell why this guy struggled so much in the american league? Was it because he didnt take it seriously? This man was mentioned to be a Jagr(not sure about the Jagr part)
kinda player.
Do you guys think he will show his real face in the National League this year?
Can you guys tell why you would think so or why would you disagree?

Neither of those chumps will make the team this year. Maybe Kostitsyn will play a bit, but a very limited number of games.

The latest thing that I heard about Alexei Emelin was Lada Togliatti, his Russian Superleague team, had extended his contract for another two years, and had tripled his salary from his last year’s salary. I also don’t think there has been any official transfer agreement signed between the Russian IHF and the NHL for Russian players.
Speaking of which: Has anyone heard anything further about the state of any transfer agreement between the Russian IHF and the NHL? Why is it that Mikhail Grabovski can leave the Moscow Dynamo to try out for the Canadiens, but Evegni Malkin has to sneak out of Russia to sign with Pittsburgh.

So does this mean emelin will not be on the team for another two years?

WTF?!?!?! Who`s the dude posting under my name? Get your own, damn it!
Latendress would be great if he plays like he did last training camp, but not like he did last season…
I want to see what Grabovski brings to the table….
I’m also curious to see how Chipchura has developed…
Ryan O’Byrne, a 6’5″ 225 lb defenseman who can skate…that should be interesting, especially with Bouillon out for the start of the season.
Go HABS Go!

Not necessarily! Remember Malkin was supposed to be under contract with his Russian superleague club for the next two seasons as well. He had managed to whittle this contract down to one season prior to his recent “defection” to the United States. In other words, stranger things can happen.
The politics between the NHL and RIHF are quite odd these days, and things could change in the upcoming season. I thought that the two governing bodies were close to a deal in August 2006, but I think that the Malkin situation has everyone in Russia PO’d. The Russians apparently are being told that unless they have a signed transfer agreement in place that their NHL players will be excluded from participation at the Winter Olympics. Somebody please correct me if I have any of these details wrong.
