Fans of the Montreal Canadiens let out a collective sigh of relief last night as the Chicago Blackhawks rallied in dramatic fashion to win their 2nd Stanley Cup in 4 years by a score of 3-2 against the Boston Bruins. As much as it burns to see a team other than Nos Glorieux win, at least we are not having to deal with the mental carnage caused to our collective psyche by having to witness 2 Cups for the Bruins in 3 years.
Congratulations tot he Hawks who were simply stellar throughout the playoffs. They are an exciting young team with a host of up-and-coming youngsters who will ensure that they are a force in the west for years to come.
There are big decisions ahead for the Montreal Canadiens after they used their final compliance buyout to rid themselves of Tomas Kaberle for next season. The team has what feels like 100 draft picks this season, and the draft will serve as an excellent opportunity to seriously re-stock the minor league system after so many of the young players have already begun their NHL careers.
I hope everyone has a safe and excellent summer!
Go Habs Go!!!
