You’d think, by your dramatic use of language, that we were talking about a soap opera here. I would think that, if watching a hockey game makes you feel that emotional, you may want to consider picking a new sport. They didn’t “find a way to lose”, they were outplayed. Brisebois didn’t lose us the game; we were outshot 37-21.

and BTW, we’re outshot every game! that never changes. Unfortunately we have a very very soft defence, and they can never clear their zone, so the opposition gets loads of shots.

I’m just glad no habs got injured tonite,we all knew we were going to lose this game.If we don’t match up in a category with the Ducks ,then they surpass us in another”Rome wasn’t built in a day”,nice try though…I actually felt they took it easy on us”maybe respect to a young ,overachieving team”. Ok Ok so our Habs last night…losing to the ducks….hmmm did anyone else get the feeling we were watching a preview to this years Stanley Cup final??

The Ducks will not make it to the finals. Unless they hire their own Refs.

Sorry, the penalties weren’t ALL our fault,,,you saw Kovy wave his hand at the ref on his 3rd penalty like he didn’t care anymore, and Carbo didn’t even try to argue them at the end…was one of those games that wasn’t called down the middle. Some of those flimsy calls on the Habs were sickening compared to some of the infractions by the Ducks that were ignored….inconsistent officiating at its finest.
We weren’t allowed to be “in” this game right from the get-go. Seven penalties to two in the first 2 periods, including a couple of 5 on 3′s, and one of our 2 PP’s was overlapped by and penalty of our own. A team as goonie as the Ducks with 2 penalties in 2 periods…come on.
It all comes back to Betman’s plan for all games to be close so we can give a good show to the fans and maybe have OT or his beloved shootout. A team that 21st or so on the PP can have all these PP’s and they’re not really a threat to run up the score (as you saw last night)…but all these penalty calls did more than that…they “evened” out the game. The Ducks never scored on them…BUT, it kept the Habs from showcasing THEIR #1 PP, and kept the best players or biggest threats to score, on the bench, getting cold, with no offensive momentum whatsoever.
7 calls to 2 for the Habs, and the game would have been over in the first period, and that not “good” for the league, and the powers-that-be know this…the game was made to be even as I saw various times throughout this year. And the cherry on top for proving this “conspiracy” (if you want to call it that), was when the Ducks finally got up by a 3-1 score, we got a couple of consellation calls with 5 minutes or so left….no threat in letting the Habs PP go to work then, at best, they can only tie the game, they can’t use it to go up by 3 goals……but PP’s at this time were so ineffective because the team is already so deflated offensively that they can’t even get things clicking.
I know that complaining about the refs is taboo…and I’ve kept it to myself so far this year, but last night was brutal proof of how this league has been going this year…just take notice of how many times a team thats behind by a goal or 2 get a PP in the last 4-5 mins of a game….I’ve noticed it a hundred times this year, not just with the Habs. It’s nothing but an efford to make games close and “hopefully” have a breakaway contest at games end. Granted some games get away and end up 10-2, but thats gonna happen…but just take notice of the last 12 games or so with any teams, in close games…see how many teams trailing these games get the PP at the end.
Sorry guys about my rant, and some of you will probably disagree…but after noticing this all year it finally pissed me off last night when the Ducks of all teams, defending Cup champs, are given an advantage to victory, and we are taken right out of the game from the start, unable to get our awesome offense flying.
I have seen every Habs game this season as well as most of you have, and also I’ve seen coutless other games and this serario at games end is just something I’ve noticed and want to see if anyone else has. Again, some will disagree, and some of those calls we deserved last night, some were so small thats its sick, and then compare that to some of the calls the Ducks got off with…it’s laughable.
A supposed great match-up decided by refs…..gents, if it keeps up, we’re about 2 steps from rigged games.

Donnie i Agree with you a hundred percent last nights game was another poor example of refs in the west,San hose was the same kinda of bs calls as lastnight.Its like the refs were playing a game of peekaboo.

I would say that Lapierre cost the second goal as much as Brisebois. THe ducks aren’t better than Montreal, anyhow, not from what I saw last game. How can you possibly win the game when the Refs don’t call the same kind of penalties on both sides. Obstruction on Montreal but on the other side they don’t call it. Anyways. That game could of went any side till the end. If the Ducks didn’t have that lucky goal in the air. The Habs would of led 1-0 and it might of been a different game.

People cheer up, we are in first of the division when nobody had even put Montreal in the playoff run. We should be happy, they can get to the finals if they work as a team. The habs are playing great.

Go blow a goat for wooden nickels hablifer,if you did not see the uneven officiating last night u are blind.I never complain about the refs but these last few games are hard not to notice the unfair calls.

This year isn’t like any other… Finally, the Habs will make the playoffs… They got some scoring, which they haven’t had in quite a while… They are exciting to watch.. On most nights…

Are they going to stumble? Yes.

Are they going to win most games? Yes.

Are they going to win the cup? WHo knows… But they stand as much of a chance as Ottawa, Pittsburg, Philly and Boston.

NYR won tonight. only 2 points behind the habs. getting alittle bit too close for comfort. a must win tomorrow for the habs.

Max… turn your binoculars around. The habs are not as good as last year? Koivu Higgins and Ryder are still on the team… they just pale in comparison againts the heaven sent Kostitin Brothers! Plekanecs, (latest game) Grabosky, O’Byrne, HAMMERLIK, Bouillon, Komisarek, Streit, PRICE, even Lapierre… (Markov, Kovalev – pillars of the team) etc. needless to say this team has depth… lots of it! When you have players like Dandenault (who was a starter for DETROIT!) and Brisebois, and Begin as healthy scratches… Yes I agree, we don’t have the size… but we have the heart. If you watched the game against New Jersey, you got a glimpse of what the HABS Playoff mode is all about. Even Ryder nailed some devils to the wood. On every line you have a playmmaker, Kovalev is not alone… don’t be fooled. If you look at the statistics, the points are distributed on a greater number of players than most teams. i.e. Ovechkin with 56 goals… doesn’t leave much for the rest…

FINALLY, The Refs… (apart from fluky crapy goals that always seem to happen against montreal on important games) are a menace to our stanley cup conquest. Remenber the series against Carolina? Most games against Toronto (not so much this year). San Jose’s game… Anaheim’s game… yes they are not so subtle anymore… they need to promote and sell Hockey in the south. Beating the Montreal Canadiens is exactly the image Betman wants for the fans in the south. Our fans are all over the place, and they cheer just as loud on away games. They are often louder than home team fans. How many of us are actually guilty of enjoying rubbing off a victory dance in front of a Toronto or Boston fan? I know I am… “leafs suck”
