Game 23: Habs/Flyers

  • The Montreal Canadiens have many reasons to be thankful following their 4-3 shootout victory over the Carolina Hurricanes. They should give thanks that Brian Gionta was able to sneak a goal by Cam Ward to ensure the Habs would end up with 2 points. They should be very thankfull that Carey Price who had been 0-4 in shootout attempts thus far this season was able to make 3 Canes skaters miss. They should be thankful that Lars Eller was able to make the most of his ice time before Scott Gomez left the game with an injury to keep them in a 2-1 hockey game. Maybe they should be thankful that Gomez was hurt? That is just mean.

You know what I’m NOT thankful for? American Thanksgiving pushing the Montreal Canadiens into a 3pm start this afternoon.

Although given how few people are in the office today, I might just be able to sneak onto my NHL Gamcentre account and watch anyway. I guess I’m thankful for the country club environment that I seem to work in these days.

Puck drops at 3pm est. Go Habs Go!!

  1. Mats I hate afternoon games, can you remember the last time the Habs won an afternoon game? I can’t. Bottom line is now that Philly had Pronger back they will be a team to be reckoned with and I do not think we have the guns to deal with Philly. Big Pronger stands in front of his net and dares you to come even close to the crease. Our little guys are nuts if they even try so they don’t. Bottom line is if you don’t go into the dirty areas you don’t score many goals against the flyers. Big Chara is the same only not as mean as Pronger. If you are afraid to get in the paint then you will seldom score goals.
