Game 41: Habs/Pens

  • Terrible, if not unexpected news today for Habs fans: Josh Gorges is done for the season needing surgery to repair an injury that had bothered him for much of the early season. To say that Gorges had become critical to the Candiens defensive play in the absence of Andrei Markov over the course of the past two seasons would be an understatement. He’s already missed in the lineup – that now features a mix of old and slow, and inexperienced defensemen.

Oh yeah, just what we need: The Penguins.

Lets just hope the Habs learned to score over the past few days.

    Go Habs Go!!

Well plain and simple Carey has to win this one for us!

Personally, I do not see our GM having any choice but to go out and get another defenceman and we still obviously need a power forward.

Only other choice is to play with what we have and if we don’t make the playoffs so be it. Do we set up our offence this year and build our defence for next year? Bottom line is this team is close to a great team, but we need something to pull us out of the scoring slump and JM has a choice to either rely more on PK and Weber and maybe another minor leaguer or pick up a journeyman defenceman.
