Game 48: Habs/Leafs

  • Classic 11-12 Canadiens. Take a 4-2 lead into the third period and blo it all to eventually lose in OT. I couldn’t watch last night due to a family function, but something tells me that I didn’t need to see it go down to understand what happened. Frankly, I had no illusions that an immaculate run for the playoffs was possible, even though I harbour no ill-will to those who want to hope that a comeback is possible. Frankly, I’m the type of person who sees a losing season as an opportunity, one in which a team who is smart in trade, can set up the next season by identifying the team’s strengths and weaknesses.

Tonight the Habs will face the Leafs in a game that will no doubt be important to some fans bu ultimately holds little meaning outside of bragging rights. I can only hope that at the end of this game the pundits around the game can find it within themselves not to throw the teams youth under the bus. I’m a big PK Subban fan, and although he has had his struggles this season he has the been no different than guys like Luke Schenn or Tyler Myers who face growing pains as they assume the role of their respective team’s top defender.

    Go Habs Go!!!

I did not see much of the game but I what i did see was a team who really wanted to win this game. Price finally had a team who played well in front of him. That has not happened much in the last few games and I think Price was getting frustrated.
