- muller93 : MB is forced to go out and get a big D-man. Missing Emelin for almost half the season is the last thing we needed to hear. Now going out and getting a big D-man is a MUST!!!
- muller93 : Now for the Fu**en Bruins who have no business even being in the second round are going to get a nice rest. Yes the same goons who took out one of best D-man for 6 more months. There is NO Fu**en justice. Just venting--Ok i feel better now.
- muller93 : So pissed to see the Rangers lay down and play like total crap. How did the Rangers beat the Caps? This team is playing with no heart--a must win and can only muster 23 shots...PATHETIC !!!
- muller93 : Senet I did see Galchenyuks goal--Made a great move for the game winner. You can see the kid has so much confidence.
- goalie : If Rangers get swept I wonder if Tortorella will get his walking papers? Or Glen Sather? They have tons of 'talent' but zero wins in this series.
- goalie : It's really too bad we lost to the Sens as we would have played the Rangers and the way NYR are playing we would have beat them too. If only. If only!
- Senet1 : Actually I agree it was a good move for them to play a shorter season and get the experience. He could not have played in the minors this year he would have had to play junior or the NHL. However, he now has a year under him and knows what to expect next year and hopefully take a bigger responsibility on the team. Did you see those two goals in the bronze game? Wow.
- muller93 : Good move by the Habs not having Galchenyuk play in the minors. Now Galchenyuk has 1 year in the NHL and playoff experience this is going to pay off big time come next year.
- Senet1 : Galchenyuk scores to back to back goals in shoot out to help USA win Bronze metal. I did not see the second goal but the first was a beauty.
- Senet1 : So we could pick anywhere from 25th to 23rd depending on who wins these quarter final series.
- Senet1 : First, is the 14 teams in the lottery. Then there are 12 teams that did not make the semi finals in the order of the seasonal finish, Then there are the four teams in the semi final the first two eliminated pick in the order of the regular season points total and the last two based on who wins and who loses the cup. So as it stand now if say Detroit beats Chicago then Detroit moves up to pick after us. Boston or NYR will move up and pick after us. LA or San Jose will move up and pick after us
- Senet1 : Basically, I was wrong about the draft pick situation. There are three groups of drafting teams within the 30 teams.
- Senet1 : seriously ready to challenge for the cup. He will us win games but he will not be the difference between winning the cup and not winning the cup. You pick up players like that once you have the team ready to challenge,.
- Senet1 : I am looking at the players to draft and there are a lot of big 6'3-6'5 forwards available ion the draft this year. If we could draft 3-4 big young players in the 2nd and 3rd round why would you want to give that up for a roster player who may have 2-3 years at best. If we are going to build a winner to have to build it with bigger players and there are a lot of good big players available this year. So you sign Ott and he is with us for the short run, but probably not when we are seriously re
- Senet1 : Boullion is a great mentor for the young D-men
- muller93 : Boullion is one of MBs great additions--Boull ion is a definite Keeper.
- muller93 : Getting rid of Kaberle frees up a lot of cash. Boullion is small but is reliable and doesn't back down from anyone.
- muller93 : Exactly Goalie any thoughts on a punishing D-man?
- goalie : They;re showing determination adn skill vs Ducks and Blackhawks.
- goalie : REd Wings could turn out to be the surprise team of this year's playoffs!
- goalie : WE need to rid our team of Kaberle and Webber. Step two would be to then move Diaz. If we get that big d-man I believe that would push Boullion to # 7 on the chart. We'd then go with Georges, PK,Markov (to continue mentoring Ememlin) Tinordi as our starting six . THEN I'd be excited about our chances. We could then work on getting bigger forwards.
- goalie : I too would gladly give up a 3rd round pick for Ott- the type of player we sadly lack. AND if we could get one more rugged, expeienced defenceman it would help immensely.
- muller93 : Senet what you are saying makes sense but if we can get Ott for a 3rd round I'll take that all day.
- muller93 : MB should be looking at a big D-man first, even though I like our blue line with the addition of Tinordi. We need that insurance just in case one gets injured. Also I'm a firm believer in starting with the goalie first then-defense-for wards-and we already have good goalie. We have all noticed when we have the lead Price is tough to beat.
- Senet1 : So sometimes you have to sacrifice for one year or two to build that team in the draft. then add the finishing touches through FA and trades.
- Senet1 : Muller, Detroit is another good example. They have been in the hunt every year with good well balanced teams yet only one or two cups to show for it. However, they have built a team that has a chance every years for the last 10+ years. That is what I think we have a chance to do this year with a good draft. It reminds me of the habs teams of the mid 80 and 90's we built a team then with sold draft picks and won the cup twice during that time period. So sometimes you have to sacrifice a one
- muller93 : Very true Senet, you do need luck and we haven't had any luck it seems since the habs moved to the Bell Center. We had an incredible run in 2010 with some crazy goal tending from Halak. With Galchenyuk-Tinor di-Gallagher all in 1 year--not too bad, even with an early exit in the playoffs.
- Senet1 : Muller I guess we all have our own ideas, but there has never been too many times that were successful when they traded their draft picks away. We have a chance to build this team so we have a shot at winning the cup over the next 10 years. Even as good as Pittsburgh has been they have only won the cup once since Crosby and Malkin have been with the team. That is because you not only need great players but you need luck to win, but one thing about Pittsburgh they have a chance every year. The
- muller93 : Good point on Torres, he might be a liability. Torres has to tone it down a bit, but that's his game-very aggressive.
- goalie : Though I don't condone what Raffi Torres did - thos shows you how repeat offenders or near offenders are going to be treated. His hit was NOT illegal BUT what the rap sheet adn reputation Torres has he got severly punished. Lesson to be learned by OTHER players because Torres dopesn't learn fromk his mistakes.
- muller93 : Senet normally I would agree with you on not trading draft picks but we are not in a rebuilding stage. Sometimes draft picks can be a roll of the dice and it can take up to 3 years to be NHL ready. We have a good team and I agree with Stuo players like Clowe-Torres-Ott -Scott will make a big difference. Somebody has to protect Gallagher, he can't keep getting hit the way does--we need a tough forward so they think twice before going after Gallagher.
- Senet1 : Really a heathly Habs team would probably win more games against the Pens that we did against the Sens. Reason they Pens would not play as physical against us as against the Sens. If we get good goaltending we win at least two games.
- zpezada4ok : hello all «link»
- stuo11 : hes a tougher big guy too! Just a minor adjustment but will help a bit
- stuo11 : hes better than markov, and hes french who was in mention for defenceman of the year

Calgary is a team built for the playoffs. The Habs are a team being built for a long run. What Calgary has that the Habs don’t is the physical presence required to go all the way. (And if you think that Calgary couldn’t come out of the West, then you’re not paying attention.) This is something that should be addressed in the off-season.
That said, I am elated at the success that the Habs have had this season. They have exceeded expectations in many regards, and I have faith that they’ll go deep into these playoffs. But, as I stated earlier on, I do not yet see a potential Stanley Cup champion on the ice for Montreal. They’re close, but they lack that physical punch.
April 14, 2008 at 4:48 pm
What’s with all the drama? The Bruins played a bit harder than we did, Tim Thomas was outstanding and we came up short in overtime – I’ve seen worse things happen. To call the series off while we’re still up 2-1 is something I’d expect to hear from an overeager Bruins fan, not supposed Habs supporters.
I think that, if anything, this loss is simply good fortune. A close game decided in overtime that does not take away from confidence, does add to the grit the boys will bring on Tuesday and allows us to take the Bruins out in front of a home crowd.
Calm the fu@k down and enjoy the playoffs
April 14, 2008 at 5:08 pm
Bob Gainey, Guy Carboneau and Kirk Muller, were all playoff players and Cup winners. I believe they know better coaching than most of us here. So, relax.
April 14, 2008 at 6:06 pm
I’d like to see O’byrne (and Boullion if healthy) along with Stewart in for the next game.
I’d like to give Breezer (not that he’s been playing bad) a rest. Also, I’d like any one
of Lats, Dandy, Higs, or Ryder have a seat as well for a game.
I do think we’ll win – but not without some changes in style. A bit less finesse and some
more punch please.
April 14, 2008 at 6:08 pm
I think O’Byrne will play tomorrow night. Carbo said he will sleep on it, but it’s a good bet, and maybe if he skates today without pain, Bouillon could possibly play. Koivu goes for an xray tomorrow, to see where he’s at. If habs lose tomorrow, I bet he plays on Thursday.

Hey Habs Blog,
Are any of these alias the same person? Some sound alike especially when their blogs are in a ” I know everything about hockey and I’m the biggest Habs fan. Oh, yeah, I’m a bigger fan than you” voice.
Freedom of speech. Too bad there are idiots who say they’re fans but knock the team after ONE LOSS!!!
Wake up folks! At least we here and stand a great chance at beating the Bruins. Isn’t that satisfaction enough?
Montreal is gaining some great experience. This loss keeps them grounded and they know they can bounce back!!! Price is playing GREAT.
Go Habs GO!!!

bruins look like the big bad bruins, and we look like little bo peep. The streak has to end sometime, and we don’t play well against physical teams.
Anyways this is just my opinion, which I am entitled to.
I am positive WHEN THE HABS PLAY WELL. does anyone think that the bruins didn’t dominate?
Submitted by habs attack on Sun, 04/13/2008 – 19:52.
so does anybody think the habs look good? the bruins are smoking us with their physical play. Habs don’t play well against physical teams.
the streak has to end sometime, and this is the 1st time this year that Boston has the lead. That should tell you something.

So what exactly is a ‘fair weather fan’? Someone who only follows the team if it’s winning, or someone who dares to speak his mind if the team seems to be lacking in some manner?
Whatever, who cares. This really is an uninteresting topic.
April 14, 2008 at 9:10 pm
The fair weather fans are the cry babies that whine and cry everytime something does not go the way they think it should in their little minds, We see them all the time, it is one thing to say maybe we could dress such and such a player or maybe we could try this style or that style of play, but to out right cry and say things like , its over we are cooked , I am taking the flag off my car, we wont win another game, the series is over bla bla is sheer nonesence from nothing more than fair weather fans with no faith and no class, a true fan will never abandon his/her team ever no matter what happens …

LOL when your posting here and there the same things at the same time and then you pretend not to know who you are , its funny !!
And a fan will never sell his team short no matter what happens this year I am proud of the Habs and all they have done this year … and I am sure we will be strong for a good number of years to come …

Hey Iceman, just catching up but you mentioned about no one criticizing our defense, check out #85 and a few others. I may have not said it exactly like you did but I am not happy with our defense. It is pretty bad when Brisebois is one of our best.

Posted on April 13th, 2008 at 11:03 pm. About ‘Habs / Bruins: i agree the coach can make changes anytime he wants to all I am saying is that Brisebois was one of our better defenseman, only because Markov is playing below average and Komy just is not healthy yet and Streit is also playing below par. I have never personally like Brisebois but you have to admit he played over his head for the last two games.
April 14, 2008 at 9:31 pm
Thats right Brisebois has played very well and there are people that still disrespect him all the time.
April 14, 2008 at 9:31 pm
I don’t give a Rats *** what some of you wankers think of me.

April 14, 2008 at 9:36 pm
Hi Senet 1:
I’m saying that the D-men left Price out to Dry on all of the Goals in this series.
I feel bad for PRICE. He is the only Man that shows up to play 60 mins. every game.
April 14, 2008 at 9:40 pm
Sure, I will rant a rave on my Habs and I have every right to. For I pay part of their Wages as a Fan going to the games, buying merchandice etc.
Some times I may go a bit to far and I am the first to admit it. I still have thr Habs flag on my Olds. I wore my Habs T-Shirt to work today.
April 14, 2008 at 9:51 pm
OK, its over now lets move on ,it’s all good.So any guesses to tomorro’s score?I’ll go with 2-1 Habs.
April 14, 2008 at 9:51 pm
Iceman in a round about way I am trying to say that I agree with you, I believe that our defense has been our downfall in the last two games. I hate it when we have the jump on the Boston forward yet he beats us to the puck inthe corner because we are afraid to get hit. We should be the hitter not the hittee. This is the worst I have seen Markov play all season. Maybe he is playing hurt and we don’t know about it. It is obvious Komy is still playing hurt he is not hurting us but we need him to start making his presence felt, hopfully with a days rest he can start to hit.
April 14, 2008 at 9:58 pm
Here is a prospective to consider, we had a bad game on Saturday and won, then we had to fly to Boston and play again without any practice to correct our problems from game two. We probably did not get much sleep or rest whereas the Bruins although they lost probably felt good about themselves and got a good night’s sleep. Here is betting that the coaching staff make the appropriate adjustments in practice today in preparation for tomorrow night’s game.
April 14, 2008 at 10:45 pm
I think that maybe some fans are just more emotionally reactive than others. This is not to suggest that those less emotionally reactive are any less passionate though. I just think that some people react highly emotionally to things whereas others digest the situation for a while before reacting. No?
I, for one, do react emotionally, but I wouldn’t abandon the Habs or lose faith in them just because I was upset about a particular performance. I know that they’ll be playing in the second round, and very likely in the third, but I’d like to see a more consistent effort and a lot more in the way of physical play, because I’d like to see this team win it all this year. 24 doesn’t roll off the tongue nearly as nicely as 25 does.
April 14, 2008 at 11:04 pm
Hey joseph, we all get emotional some of more so than others, I know that you are a true habs fan and have only their best intestest at hard. I agree there is something about 25 that sounds better. Just imagine, if we win either this year or next year we will have 25 cups in 100 years. once every four years a cup NOT BAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
April 14, 2008 at 11:48 pm
Thanks, Senet 1. I’m on board for the long haul, as I have been for some time.
It’s funny, I was just telling a friend today (an objective Leafs fan) that another Cup will bring the average to 1 in every 4 years. They agreed that that is pretty spectacular.
April 15, 2008 at 6:48 am
guys our team is winning next year for sure all the young guns are going to get alot more better. kostitsynsare going to get 70 pts each,Price will get vezina, higgy will have a great season with 30+ goals and Ryder will come back. I have a feeling Kovalev won’t be as good though.
April 15, 2008 at 8:01 am
Good moring Habs Fans. It is a Great Day.
The Habs will win tonight. I can feel it.
Loss my Cool there, had a bit of a meltdown. I’m better now though. Went to the Doctor’s yesterday he gave me stronger Meds. He said to take these little pills when I was feeling upset and I will feel great and nothing will bother me. So I will take them at the start of the 3rd period and by the time the game is over it doesn’t matter if the Habs lose it will still have control and I will be happy.
The only down side to this is if Boston wins I will still be happy. That part sucks.
Lets Go Habs. Lets make a statement tonight that we will not give you Bruins another game. For the next 13 games played…….
