    nice pp

  2. Hey Don Carnage which one is it. In your other post you say you are glad Gainey didn’t give the future away, yet in the response you imply that people can see the future. Which one is it? Because we didn’t give up our youth we have a future? That because we say trade for real NHL players we can see the future? That because we are not in Gainey’s presence we don’t know what really happened, but yet you seem to speak as if you know it all. Well buddy, do us all a favour go on TSN and list the reasons why Gainey didn’t make a great trade today. Come on, put up or shut up, it’s you who should go to some other team, we want a team that wins, not a team that loses. LOSER!

No people complain because it is easy, we are used to winning here thats for sure but not in the last 14 years ..so now that there is a cap in place things will change for all teams, the cup will be won in many different cities, but the truth is no one here has a clue as to what was offered and what was said or done , your all arm chair coaches and GM’s and the ones that cry the loudest around here are what 20 years old? I would say more like 16-18 years old

    It shows !

Habs need to do what the other teams do finish dead last for 5-7 years get some great picks that way , or build one brick at a time takes years to build a team and thats what I see .

habs didn’t show up AGAIN! I guess this the fuc@#$%^en reason why they kept Souray! So they could lose all their remaining games, not make the playoffs, and also lose Souray for NOTHING!! PATHETIC! HORRIBLE PERFORMANCE!!
THIS TEAM SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES!!! They are the WORST example of a professional sports team!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. only a srike can save us now

He did not get a trade that he felt would better the team right now and make a big enough impact for this season ..its rather easy to see .

Its not like all teams traded today … get a grip its a game after all .

    Loser !

  7. So Don Carnage, from your great wisdom, if Pittsburgh can connect the dots does that mean their GM is better than Gainey, cause gee it looks like Gainey can’t seem to connect the dot X to the dot Y. Hmm…maybe someone forgot to tell him, hey a GM makes trades. That is the fact of life in the NHL. Players come and go, but someone forgot to tell Bob and Guy that eh? Most of all it looks like Don Carnage seems to think its the old conspiracy against Bob Gainey, yup, Gainey wanted the players to adopt an orphan chinese baby and contribute a million dollars to charity as conditions but hey, Crosby just could’nt find a nanny, so Gainey had to let him go, is that it Don Carnage? Or something like that? If there is anyone on crack or mood altering drugs its you Don Carnage, you seem to think you are in the same room as Gainey while he makes a million calls to a million teams offering great deals and benefits, but only to have Gary Bettman going around sabotaging the trades, oh wait, we forgot to include the taxman and Lapresse…what other great excuses can we make for Bob Gainey not playing the part of a GM?

What a disgrace. Fire Carbo-this guy is out of his league as a coach. Bring in Pat Burns or a teacher like Dave King.
4 penalties in a row-no discipline-coach’s fault. Worst habs team since 84-85-at least that team did something in the playoffs. Garth murray for Marcel Hossa-great trade.

  9. I mean only a strike can save us now

I said nothing about what he did or did not do , but I am sure there were plenty of calls made ..

He took the Stars to the Cup I am sure he can do the same here in time, but not less then 5-7 years

get a grip little boy its a game .

And yeah they ain’t playing with all that much heart tonight. To think that our next games are gonna be back to back also… we dead :D

I mean come on at least hold a conversation , I have been watching this place for a while and we see the insults and name calling and to be honest its a joke to watch some off the things going on here.

What player do you think would have changed everything for us this year?

Well maybe a great goalie ok so who could we get ? NO ONE

    Next a center YES !!!

    Which one ?

    at what price ?

would it have made all the bad go away? NO

so we stick to the long term plan.

Geeze Don Carnage, he took the stars to the cup, but hey he was busy making trades like some whore! But what is he doing here? NADA!

By the way, since you were there and you are so smart and senile….the NHL is public, it thrives on the publicity, at least Kevin Lowe came clean, he said he just had no budget.

Lowe doesn’t make the mistake of signing prima donnas to multi year million dollar contracts, most of the oilers are friggen welfare cases!

The Habs rely on seat sales for their revenue, there is no other more pressing need to create a winning team than ever before. If our GM cannot take us out of a 14 year glut, there may not be another 14 years of hockey in Montreal.

And for what? Because old farts like Don Carnage are only too happy to let old farts like Gainey off scot free! That is why.

Teams like Montreal under a cap and revenue sharing agreements cannot afford to make great losses. Nor can they continue to pay the likes of Kovalev and Koivu for shitty performances!

You don’t need to be a friggen couch potatoe whining wannabee GM like you are Don Carnage to know that GM’s need to take advantage of the trade deadline to acquire players to win.

Rental players are the key in the new NHL.

And this thing about not know who made calls or didn’t? That is crap!

We don’t have to be in the room with Gainey to know he didn’t do crap!

He came out and said it in Nashville that he was not going to shop around. Wake up Don Carnage, and smell your bad mouth brown nosing breath! And Bob Gainey asks you to take your nose outta his butt cause he’s constipated now Don Carnage….here have some toilet paper.

Yes Don Carnage we stick to the long term plan of seeing Montreal lose another major league team. Yup, we stick to our long term plan of losing eh Don Carnage? Hey Laraques told TSN that he was waiting for Montreal to make an offer! What did Gainey do? nothing….Guerin also said he thought more teams would bid on him. Honestly, and there were many players who thought Montreal would make bids for them. But did Gainey do anything? Nope.

Sorry Don Carnage, you are happy to be a loser, fine enjoy your losses. While the rest of us push for change and hope Montreal becomes the winner it should be, you my friend would say Ninnima and Downey are there to save us, with their six points total each, they will save us, cause we are sticking to the long term plan, the plan that says one day six points will be big in the NHL! Oh yes Don Carnage, talk about being in denial and ignorant!

You really are a rude little boy and so tough behind your computer! WOW

He drafted the stars to the cup made some moves when needed and thats all , no one know ahead of time how a trade will work out no one at all ever , unless we are talking about players like The Great One , The Magnificent One, Jagr a few years back , Crosby ect ect

Other then that it is always a crap shoot , you just never know untill they are there and have played for a while, I think it is safe to say that guys we dont what he anymore well some of us are not really in high demand this time of year, we know who they are , we will see what the team looks like in 2 years, then your tune will change.

But not your manners that I am sure of your stuck being rude for the rest of your super tough internet life .

Welp. This team is done. The play you see out there tonight is a classic example of the two NEW (last 14 yrs anyways) eternal facts for Habs fans.

    1) There will never be ANY hope of success while the current management is in place. The team knows this, thats why they are packing it in tonight. They were probably hoping for some help, instead they lost a long time serving member and true team player (Rivet) and got nothing in return. How can I be sure the first round pick will turn into nothing? Check the last 14+ years if you’re unsure.

    2) Junk players that we trade for junk players will ALLWAYS come back to haunt us. See junk player #4587 Marcel Hossa tonight.

  19. #19 R habs 4 real says:
    February 27, 2007 at 9:04 pm

The truth is, whether we have a lousy team(which we do), or not, management doesn’t care. Do you know why? Because the fans will still pay big bucks(idiots), for tickets to watch these losers play. the games are always sold out. So Gillette makes money even when the team stinks up the joint(which they’ve done all season). I wish people wouldn’t buy tickets, so there would be alot of empty seats, and Gillette would see our malcontent.
This team is not worthy of our support, and we deserve a better product on the ice.
As I watched this game(which I am no longer watching), I am filled with anger and despair, because of would could have been, and can no longer support this mundane, lethargic phony players. They look loke they’re skating in sand, but without the skates! Gainey, how in your right mind, can you present this imitation of a hockey team? They are simply pathetic!
We, as fans, need to protest this sorry excuse of a team!

Don’t worry The_Vipah be happy Don Carnage has a long term plan for the Habs. One day when six point Habs are king, you know when the rest of the league basically goes to hell in a handbasket and six points wins you a cup and you get paid two million dollars a year to make six point seasons, we’ll be there. Yes, Don Carnage says don’t worry.

  21. #21 Don Carnage says:

Well thats one reason we dont need to trade young players anymore and antother good reason not to sign anyone in a hurry , short of a great goaltender there was not realy anyhting for Montreal to look for , maybe a good center but at what cost?

Like I posted above no one has said what players we needed that would have made it all right , its easy to say get rid of this guy that guy who said anyone was asking about this guy that guy ?

Thats what makes me laugh …

  23. #23 Joshtm says:
    February 27, 2007 at 9:14 pm

Oh ya, last year’s great move was Downey, so according to your post that Gainey is doing exactly like he did in Dallas, trade wisely, then I guess that makes Downey pretty big on the radar then. HMM…..looks like someone got caught in a pretty bad comparision here boy….

  24. #24 Don Carnage says:
    February 27, 2007 at 9:15 pm

The posts here are as funny as the idiots on tv shooting their mouths off all the time, then saying no no we need to keep our young players, but had said trade trade days before, the real problem for the Habs are the people that cry and complain all the time, the constant nagging and bitching and pressure on the players , to play here you got to not watch the tv or read newspapers or read blogs from the cry baby so called fans more like fanatics ie: retarded morons like you.

  25. #25 Joshtm says:
    February 27, 2007 at 9:19 pm

Oh wait we forgot to give Gainey credit for the wise moves in the summer, not only Downey is gonna lead us as part of the long term plan where six point forwards help you win a cup, but also great forwards like Ninnima, oh wait did I say Ninnima was a forward….oh and don’t forget Samsonov….oh yes, those are great Dallas type moves by Gainey in the long term plan where ten point forwards work with six point forwards to win us a cup! Oh yes, you heard it here first from Don Carnage…

IF THIS IS ALL THAT YOU PEOPLE HAVE TO DO THEN YOU ARE ALL LOOSERS AS WELL. MYSELF INCLUDED. THEY ARE THE ONES LIVING THE GOOD LIFE. DRIVING 100,000.00 CARS, MILLION DOLLAR HOMES ETC. Yes Don Carnage has confirmed the oft heard conspiracy in Montreal, yes fans who work together to make sure no great players come. Yes we en masse when we heard Laraques was thinking Montreal, we pushed Pittsburgh to get him, oh yes, we the horrible fans. That is a classic Don Carnage, yes, because Montreal has been cursed with crap GMs blame their lacklustre business skills on the fans and the media for complaining that the GMs are crap….oh yes, we can’t blame the GMs for being crap now can we?

  28. #28 R habs 4 real says:
    February 27, 2007 at 9:24 pm

Honestly, I think we should all march down to Gainey’s office and protest. WE WILL NOT ACCEPT THIS MEDIOCRITY ANYMORE! CARBO is a lousy coach, and GAINEY is an even worse GM. I guess Joshtm was right. We do get all the broke down players nobody else wanted. Today was a perfect example of that. we took a goalie, who has played a grand total of 4 NHL games, and has been traded 4 times this year already. Yes, he’s certainly going to help us(joke).
Then there was Samsonov, who couldn’t find a taker even when he was put on waivers. Kovalev , who rangers couldn’t wait to unload, because he never shows up, or Aebishit, who couldn’t stop a beach ball. And Bonk, who couldn’t make it in Ottawa. And the list goes on and on. ALL THESE PLAYERS ARE REJECTS!!!!!!
I have been a fan of this team for almost 40 years, but enough is enough.
No efforts have been made to improve this team in the last 15 years!
I can’t take the mediocrity, and losing anymore. There just isn’t anything about this team to look forward to. There future is BLEAK!
I’m not going down with this ship. I’m going to look for an organization that cares about it’s fans, and one that wants a winner and will take the appropriate steps to make sure that happens.

  29. #29 Joshtm says:
    February 27, 2007 at 9:28 pm

Hey where are you Kovalev lovers from the night before, HUH? Come on, come on here now and point out when Montreal should handicap itself at trade time, when great rental players are available, why we are stuck with this crap?

  30. #30 Don Carnage says:
    February 27, 2007 at 9:29 pm

I said its all a crap shoot no one knows ahead of time what a player will turn out like in the long run, no one ever has , how many teams have drafted in the first round and never seen those players live up to it? ALL of them how many times have trades gone wrong > all the time in all teams tell me that Colorado got a better deal with Theo? yeah right

It happens all the time no one knows what players will really do untill they are there , if they did no one could ever make a trade it just would not be possible because everyone would know the future

sounds like people around here they know exactly what trades to make all the time !!! just too easy all you have is 20/20 hindsight and a big mouth

  31. #31 Joshtm says:
    February 27, 2007 at 9:39 pm

Big difference here Don Carnage, and go back to your Laffs blog by the way. Big difference, here in Montreal when a player has a six point season we pay them two million dollars, we renew their contract. Instead of trying to find better players at trade time Montreal just goes ahead and rewards mediocre players like Dandy and Boully, and gives Downey a million more than he is worth, watch Gainey is gonna sign him for a million and a half.

It doesn’t take 20/20 hindsight my friend its called common sense. If you trade for crap players you shuffle them on, that’s what the rest of the league does. You don’t need to be an armchair GM to know that one, but hey someone forgot to tell Don Carnage, if you buy something thats broken you take it back to the store, to get a replacement, but oh no, not with Don Carnage, it’s not the stores fault, they were there making a million phone calls, or we don’t know, but you know, you plan for the future with your broken cup, never mind if you cut your lip on it eh Don Carnage, oh no, while the rest of the world shuffles broken down cups, Montreal rewards them with millions of dollars eh Don? Cause its only a crap shoot eh?

  32. The Canadians probably didn’t deserve to win tonight, but can anyone tell me how they earned 7 penalties against only one for NY? I didn’t watch the game, just the box score. It seems they always get the short end of the stick with penalties. No one can tell me that one team earned 7 to 1 in penalties. This is crap, and that’s why bowling gets higher ratings on TV in the USA over hockey. Hockey is percieved as being an unfair, badly referred game, with no control over idiots like Chris Neil.

  33. #33 Don Carnage says:
    February 27, 2007 at 10:04 pm

Thats true it is not very even when the calls are made thats for sure …seems all year it was like that for the Habs but tonight they did not show but that somehow is Carbo’s fault and Bob

Yeah those guys played like that!!! yeah right

  34. #34 Gui-Unit says:
    February 27, 2007 at 10:13 pm

Disappointing game, but look at the bright side, The leafs lost 6-1 against the Sabres, Carolina lost 4-2 against the Sens, but the Isles beat the Flyers in overtime and this ties the Habs at the 7th spot. We’re are still in playoff range. Anyways, all we can do right now is pray.

    GO HABS GO!!

  35. Hey Dan and Don Carnage, the players don’t draft or sign themselves to the team, its the GM and sometimes the coach who decides who goes or stays. For that if Montreal only has players who don’t want to skate that extra step and who are just too happy to do the quick and dirty hook, or hey cause they don’t know how to play position very well, they end up being caught out of sync with the play, and voila, you get Koivu, and Kovalev’s school of hookem tripem hockey!

The refs are basically given a silver platter and they love picking on Montreal….do they ever love picking on Montreal. Granted Gainey and Carbo are not on the ice forcing them to get hooking penalties, but hey if it wasn’t for Carbo and Gainey they wouldn’t be playing next to players who can’t make it anywhere and who don’t deserve to be in the NHL for one, or they are unfortunate to be paired up with crappy wingers.

Montreal can’t seem to select players who can play well together, sure you get the magic sometimes between Ryder and Koivu, but hey the rest of the game they are busy getting stupid penalties.

Why the denial? We all know Koivu is lazy, we all know Kovalev is a hissy fit retard, they deserve to be in the box most of the time.

But really, then you get those awful calls like the last game where Stajan basically tried to injure Begin and Begin ended up getting the penalty or last week the stupid elbow penalty when the other player basically ran into that one, like the old saying, I didn’t punch him, his face just went up to my hand, but honestly even Cherry commented that was a bad call and Montreal does indeed get picked on cause they are lazy.

  36. Hey Don Carnage,Sorry about that im a real douchbag, mybad, I had my head so far upthere all i could type was insults. I Like to poke chickens while riding a John Dear. Have we won any 2nd games of back to back games? I don’t think so.
Next game, they should spread sand on the ice, because they like to skate in sand. This year, that is their trademark, and taking penalties the whole game.

i love the habs as much as anyone in here..but let’s wake up and face the truth…bob gainey our gm has no faith in this team this year and he proved it by doing nothing deadline day to help us today tommorow or next year…if the gm gives up, we might as well too, because its’ no coincidence that the 2 teams who sell out every game win or lose year after year and always the 2 teams who management don’t do a damn thing to help make a playoff run..i am sad and going to bed..i miss huet

  41. #41 Iceberg14 says:

ps the other team is toronto, but even they picked up perrault and at least their coaches didn;t blame their goalie for having an awful team and we left huet out to dry this year

  42. So much for the playoffs. Watching Abby & Halak on back to back nights isn’t goodfor my heart. See the first five minutes of the Leaf game last night? The one thing that can carry you in the playoffs is a hot goalie, which we clearly don’t have. Through in 5-6 stupid penalties per game with a nonexistent PK and it = first round four game sweep. If they make the playoffs. At least the first three months were fun.

  43. What would the ultimate Trade for the Habs been????? Any ideas anyone??

I’m sick of our Habs being a team always in the middle of the eastern conference fighting for the last playoff spot. I heard reports about florida looking to rebuild for the future so gainey should have tried to trade a package or something. Like Rivet (a great mentor to young defensemen), Perezhogin, and Samsonov or something. That would have freed up some cap room and maybe we could have had a chance at a guy like Olli Jokinen or Roberts. WHat has Perezhogin and Samsonov done anyway this year other then get a billion penelties and skate around the net 5 times only to lose the puck. I can’t wait till we get someone smart at GM, someone who will take chances to get marquee players and bring the pride back to being a Hab. Lecalvier and Crosby both loved this team as a kid, I’m sure they would play for the Habs if persueded enough. I know I’m dreaming.. I like some of our young players we have now but lets face it… what young player/prospect in the Montreal Orginization has a chance to be a Marquee Player.. I have a long shot guess at Higgins and maybe Ryder but thats all I figure. I don’t know what gainey should have done… but I know it wasn’t nothing at all. O sorry I meant Josh Gorges and Micheal Leighton… Or wait nvm… NOTHING AT ALL!!

You know what guys we should thank Bob and the rest of upper management.
Now at least we know not to spend money on this garbage team. 4-0 to the Rangers,
PATHETIC! I recorded the game and fast forwarded till we got a powerplay.
I knew 5 on 5 we can’t score so why waist time.

Thanks Bob I won’t be going to anymore games and I suggest you all do the same.
The reality is the 100 year anniversary is around the corner and this team should have already been built to win.
Unfortunatly at this rate we’re still 5 years behind.
This will be my last post on this site this season,
just as Bob Gainey has shown today and so am I, I’m through with this year and this team.

  46. Bob Gainey and the coaching staff are just displaying the canadiens tradition of taking care of their players by backing them, you know ,solidarity . As X players for the organization, the same courtesy was also bested to them. That being said ,you can be sure if the Habs crap out in the last 17 or so games they will be a big change to the core of veterans in the off season.Veterans to be staying will be :Souray and Markov resigned for sure ,Bonk ,captain Koivu ,Higgy ,Komasarik ,Ryder and Huet. Most of the new guy’s will be around”the future “all so. Walking papers through trades for most of da rest. There will be new Bulldogs added as well as some surprises . Its all part of the procedure to perfecting the puzzle,so hang on Hab fans, the real fun is coming real soon ,so buckle up and don’t worryboutit. Koivu is part of the problem, but, hey Gainey honestly believes this bunch can do it. If Gainey got rid of Koivu and Kovalev to New York for Smyth that would be a real plus. But Gainey doesn’t have heart.

Bob Gainey and the coaching staff do not back their players. Where was Gainey or Carbo recently in the dirty games where our players were basically steamrolled with real intent to injur? No where. Lydsay Ruff showed class but what did Bettman do, fine him.

No I think come the summer and fall, this sad bunch will suit up again to repeat the same mistakes over and over again. Koivu will have perfected his ability to turn a 5 on 3 into a powerplay for the other team. Downey will get a raise, so will Markov.

But do you think Gainey will reward Pleks or Bonk? No, we may even see them demand a trade, or even appeal to the board of govenors for a trade. Gainey is gonna hope we forgot the rookies and send them packing back down to the farm. Huet and Abby will be back, allowing floater easy shots in.

Friday’s game against Buffalo will be a preview of what to expect next year, much of the same. Kovalev getting stupid penalties early in the game. Koivu destroying momentum by getting even more. What kind of phoqued up leadership is that?

oh oh!!! should i push the panic button now or wait until next week. AHHHHHH!!!! screw it. i’m pushing it right now. a loss against the rangers is pretty sad, sure it’s a back to back game and the boys may have been tired but “the rangers”. come on!!!! what the hell happened??? march is gonna be really tough for the habs and i was hoping we could beat the teams we should. not get shut out by them. sabres, thrashers, penguins, senators this upcoming month and don’t forget our new nemesis the islanders. march is gonna be a battle. are the habs ready to fight for a playoff spot?? if they get in, will they have enough energy to go on and suceed in the first round?? questions that only time will answer. i would like to believe that they will go far. maybe even make it further then the first round. maybe i am dreaming in technicolor, maybe we will wake up and start playing hockey like we know we can. who knows!!! nothing but the best in march boys, good luck. your gonna need it!!!!

Well, Souray is here for the playoff run – however, he will not be a Hab after July 1, unless – nope there is no ‘unless’ – he’s gone!

Do you really want Gainey to make a deal just to make a deal? What if any deals offered all sucked for the Habs? You people should all just relax!
