Leafs vs Habs. Round 2.

  • Tonight marks the second meeting between the Habs and the Leafs this pre-season. The Habs are looking to avenge the 4-3 loss they sufferred in Toronto on Thursday. Tonight the stakes are higher as both sides are fielding a more competitive version of their team. In goal, Jose Theodore will play the full game tonight and Ed Belfour is expected to see some action as well.

Eric Lindros and Jason Allison look to make their long anticipated debut with the Leafs and the Canadiens top line will be intact and ready to play. The Guillaume Latendresse bandwagon takes a much needed rest as he will not be in the line-up.

Cut time is fastly approaching and this is the time for players on the edge to show that they belong on the team. Marcel Hossa will play again tonight, all eyes will be on him to see if he can finally crack the line up permanently.

  1. The young lions looked good in victory. It is going to be difficult for management to make the final cuts. However, it does look like its lights out for Hainsy, which is too bad because he held such promise. Possibly they can trade him and get somethig back in return, if not they will likely lose him to waivers. Streit, though far from perfect, seems to have adapted better to the new rules and also make less mistakes than Hainsey.

As far as Lindros is concerned, if he keeps playing the way he did last night its only a matter of time until the career ending concussion takes place. He could have been great, however he ended up just being good. Furthermore, nobody really seems to care, For whatever reason(s) he seems to have burned a lot of bridges and left a bad taste in a lot of mouths.
